The next flight to be sampled was Low‐ Alcohol (6% to 25% ABV). The judges were impressed by Savoia Americano Rosso, awarding a Gold medal. Lees found this to be “rich and aromatic on the nose, nicely bitter and herbal on the palate. Delicious balance of sweetness with a lovely, lingering aftertaste.” Savoia Americano Rosso διαθέτει και πολύ όμορφο storytelling, με βασικό του κόνσεπτ την ιταλική ενοποίηση, το Risorgimento, όπως αποκαλείται, που συνένωσε διάφορα κράτη της ιταλικής χερσονήσου και ολοκληρώθηκε με την ανακήρυξη του Ιταλικού κράτους, το 1861. Pernod Ricard collected two Silver medals in this flight for Beefeater Pink Light and Beefeater Light. “This is an interesting category as there is still a decent amount of ABV,” noted Chambers at the end of the flight. “This helps to drive the flavours and aromas – some decent products on show.” With: Savoia Americano Rosso, Italicus, tangerine juice, tonka bitters and white grape and apricot soda. Sitting at 18.6% ABV, the bottling is available in the states of New York and New Jersey through Panebianco Wines, and in the on-trade through Eataly Flatiron and at Serra Rooftop, both in Manhattan.
