About this deal

The retreat and charge is an entirely unexpected icing on the cake. Combined with a general increase in movement to 8” on average, your ghosts are going to be where you want them to be, and none of these pesky screening shenanigans will matter. Discorporate The current Nighthaunt battletome was released in May 2022, and it’s up to date for the current, third edition of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. It has full rules for all the models in the Nighthaunt range, as well as the spells, relics and command traits that Nighthaunt heroes can use, and the army-wide Battle Trait rules that your whole force will benefit from. The flesh is weak, which is the perfect excuse to upgrade your MKVI Tactical Space Marines with a range of cold, hard, cog-toothed Iron Hands upgrades.

All six of these battleforces are coming this December, so stay tuned to Warhammer Community for more details. “ Warhammer Community Our very own Mystic Shield equivilent, 5+ ward is amazing making us even harder to hit! This mixed with Discorporate can turn your front line into even tougher units! This Daughters of Khaine battleforce is literally a bit of a mixed bag. There’s a bit of everything going on, which is either a good think of bad thing depending on what you’re looking for. The value of this one is going to be in the eye of the beholder. Planning a DoK specialist army? probably not for you. Prefer a generalist force? This could well be the foundation you’re after. Aura of Dread – Enemies within 3″ are terrified, which prevents them from issuing or receiving the Inspiring Presence command. This is a lot different than it used to be, but it could be quite a bit deadlier with all the other new rules. Now looking at those subfactions lets look at what a sample army list might look like. This is a 2,000 point matched play list, generated using the Warscroll Builder web app. Allegiance: Nighthaunt - Procession: Reikenor's Condemned - Grand Strategy: Predator's Domain

I’m not sure why but it seems to me that the Kruleboyz landed with a thud. Dominion seemed an unpopular box despite the detail of these awesome models. Ae people put off by the painting difficulty? They are very detailed… Overall, this is a good year for boxes. A whopping 7 and I think of all of them only one is truly, laughably bad (Stormcast). Most are good for people starting out, for a New Year New Army challenge, with very little filler that will get left on the shelf. Dis iZ a nOiCE BoX! It’s been heavy on the Ork release lately and here we have an equally impressive end of year reward. Appearing to be one of the highest value sets on this list. the set contains a Ton of Boyz, Gretchin and some standout vehicles. Lady Olynder is the most recently chosen Mortarch of Nagash. She has gathered the disparate forces of the Nighthaunt into a combined legion.

Thunderstrike Armour is the number-one fashion choice amongst the ranks of the Stormcast Eternals right now. This Battleforce contains 26 miniatures, all clad in dashing metal suits, including two mighty Stormdrake Guard on their draconith steeds.* Battleforce: Sylvaneth – Revenant Wargrove One of the broader trends here is to strip out sources of rerolls wherever they were found and replace them with new effects or simply rewrite the scroll entirely. Despite having a whopping 16 leaders out of 27, many of these leaders have been tweaked and written to have a specific niche, resulting in a selection where you can make an argument to include almost everything here. Leaders

Restricted to Nagash and Nighthaunt Hero Wizards only, here we see a few changes from the old lore, most notably and regretfully the loss of Reaping Scythe , most commonly seen on Nagash to allow him to reroll hits and wounds with Alakanash. Most of these spells have increased in cast value compared to previous versions, probably to take into account the fact that Nagash is a core part of the army now and casting on a 4 with +3 to cast was a bit silly. Over on Warhammer Community, there’s going to be lots of great content this week, including the online Armies on Parade ceremony on Saturday the 26th. New goodies for Necromunda and the Horus Heresy will be revealed, while the Warhammer Live crew will be working on the Warcry: Sundered Fate and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battleforce boxes on Hang Out and Paint . Terrifying Entity is the one we’re going to be testing first – with the number of interactions based around terrified , having your general project a 6” Aura of Dread rather than 3” could be quite nasty. It doesn’t give your general any personal bonuses, but Nighthaunt heroes have always been more about buffing their army rather than being blenders themselves. In contention with Craventhrone Guard for the title of ‘worst warscroll in the book’, Glaivewraith Stalkers have at best stayed the same since their previous iteration. Yes, they’ve gained a point of damage and rent, and now you gain +3 to charge a unit chosen at the start of the game, but you’re losing 1” range and reroll failed hits on the turn you charged your victim while also going up to 105 points, from 65. This is a bad unit with great sculpts. Maybe next time, mari lwyd. Myrmourn Banshees

Warhammer Community put out a great piece on the design aesthetic and origins of the Nighthaunt army. A link is in the notes below, but the points that jumped out for me were: Nighthaunt is a very hard army to master, they are all about tactics and playing the board. Before this new Battletome, we always had to stay within 12″ of heroes to gain benefits, but no more! If you like to play an army that can become very tanky and move around with great speed, dish out nasty damage and look amazing, then the new Nighthaunt is for you! These are enormous benefits and will really change how the army plays. In the old rules your ghosts only got the 6+ ward save while within 12+ of a Nighthaunt Hero, limiting their ability to spread out over the battlefield. Now it’s just innate; you can use your various movement shenanigans to put your models exactly where they need to be without risking them losing their save.Savings-wise, we’re once again probably looking at last year for reference where we had anything from 30% – 37% in savings for these boxes versus buying the units individually at retail. That’s Nothing to sniff at! it’s a solid saving.
