Both modes are controlled by electrical means to help fire single or multiple darts based on the duration of the trigger input set. The NERF Modulus Regulator is a magazine-fed blaster that features a conveyor based system similar to the Hyperfire, but with a select-fire.

This features a male and a female attachment point so you can attach that in between any other barrel combination you could possibly want. This really comes down to whether you want these accessories and how much you like the quirky layout of the blaster and ergonomics. Its main selling point is select fire; a switch changes between single shots, three round burst, and fully automatic firing modes.

The clip release button is located in front of the firing trigger, rather than next to the clip well. Like the Hyperfire before it, the Regulator has a high rate-of-fire feeding mechanism (belt) but a low rate-of-fire firing mechanism.
