Chris Dunkin wakes up one morning after a party, forgetting everything that happened and Taylor gains a serious football injury, changing his good habits into bad ones. The novel also focuses on the characters Lisa, Chris, Jason and Cathy whose relationships are struggling to stay together due to drug addiction among the group. What was once a dynamic bond between the four is now rapidly crumbling apart, and it is put upon them to fix this before it is too late. No state had a higher rate of participation at the height of the Klan’s powers in the 1920s than Indiana. By the time of the Kokomo rally in 1923, roughly one in three white males in Indiana had sworn an oath to violently uphold white supremacy – a fact surprising to many white people from the midwest, which has underplayed its history of mainstreaming the Klan in the 1920s. My favorite part of Gripped 5 was the final chapter with Taylor. The scene was emotional, and left me wanting more of the story. Because of this, Taylor is my favorite character at this point in the series.
