I like the simple and elegant presentation of Vibrant Leather and the fact that the cap is magnetic. A practice that every fashion and perfume brand should have implemented long before 2018. Normally, I’m done with all the clone perfumes, being the cheapies or expensive variations on the popular DNA. Yet, Vibrant Leather from Zara is such an affordable scent that I had to give it a fair chance at least. I love the heavy, transparent, well-proportioned glass flacon. And the blue suction tube as a functional eye-catcher seems to me to be exemplary modern: Here, Renzo Piano & Richard Rogers have convincingly transferred the Centre Pompidou principle, which emphasises the functional tube, into the world of flacons. The solid plastic cap only slightly clouds this excellent external appearance. I told you both were true. That is, there is truly something sacrilegious about this fragrance, but at the same time something very beneficial. Because on the one hand it is the copy of something, the imitation, the imitation. On the other hand, it is so well done that presumably even trained noses would be hard pressed to detect significant differences in a blind test. But if we disregard the sacrifices in durability and sillage that inevitably come with a Zara scent, this is extremely good, both fragrance-wise and dupe-wise. And at the price, one can own gladly also times two or three bottles and deposit them everywhere, where a Nachsprühen could come into question.

In clear contrast to the screeching lemon and the rather dull ginger in the Lemon&Ginger-Acqua Colonia of the traditional brand 4711, which I actually appreciate, the ginger in this Zara Cologne appears fruity, pleasing with minimal pungency and medium sweetness, like candied ginger: delicious. Zara’s official blurb: “Vibrant Leather is a perfect balance between the peace & romantic side of woody notes and the vitality & the intense of leather. The leather accord is barely there, and if it wasn’t listed as an official note, I doubt anyone would detect it. Aventus and all of its clones can be worn by men and women. Now easier than ever before, citruses and musks and widely acceptable as unisex creations. I did receive compliments here and there, by wearing this perfume, and I guess the compliment number would be higher if the fragrance projected more. It is probably obvious that Zara has ventured here very close to Dior Homme Cologne. Maybe even so close that it's just legal. I can very well imagine that Demachy and Epinette are smirking about it, but that the Parisian fashion house Dior has very well considered taking legal action against it. But let's put the conjecture aside.By available, I mean that it can be found in any Zara shop, and the one I suspect Zara won’t discontinue for a long time to come, as it’s with a lot of their other perfume offerings. Vibrant Leather is one of those versatile and modern fragrances that fit into any scenario and season. No complaints here, but I would avoid the extreme heat and cold since the composition is fresh and wears light. But now for the first spoils of my affair with the dashing floozy Zara. Vibrant Leather Cologne is a bright, refreshing summer water, which has already been praised by others and compared to famous siblings. Jérôme Epinette designed a modern, slightly sweet tangerine-ginger cologne, but with a lot of persistence. They build, they brew & churn out cheap and occasionally pretty good fragrances for the fashion company Zara! Let’s be straight. A perfumer of his caliber must have known about Creed Aventus by the time 2018 rolled on, and Zara, one of the biggest fashion brands in the world has the money to employ anyone.The name 'Vibrant Leather' seems rather absurd and misleading, as there is no leather or at most only a minimal base, which has a soft, cedar-like scent in addition to the permanently pleasant, fragrant mandarins and could possibly be mixed with a hint of musk and vetiver. The leather that the name refers to is more likely to be the wearer's pelt, which may start to vibrate a little in the face of such welcome refreshment.
