About this deal
It can be used on full-frame cameras like the Sony A7r III, but it will only have a circle of projection large enough to cover the APS-C portion of the sensor and you would need to put the camera in Super 35mm crop mode. The color and contrast render very nicely. When compared to Fujifilm’s 23mm f1.4 and Fujifilm 27mm, it’s very hard to distinguish which lens has more tonal details. The 7Artisans is sharper so it throws the mind off slightly. I like the short focus throw of the lens, it's less than 1/3 turn from infinity down to 0.6 feet. Not too short of a throw, but much better than many of my legacy macro lenses where you have to turn the ring almost 3/4 for full range. I also like the textured machining on either side of the focus ring, very nice to operate with one finger.
My choice? Well since my initial rush of trying it out, the Chinese small format lens sits in the camera bag and is increasingy being left at home - while my Cosina 24mm F2.8 macro-focus lens (with a big "telephoto" length lens hood) sees lots of use. And your choice................? Micro contrast is great, and the color and render depth is amazing but the vignetting and barrel distortion are bad. Corner and edge performance is abysmal. There is quite a bit of vignetting and distortion. Vignetting never really clears up and is the worst at f1.8. You can give the magnifying assist feature another try. The E-M1 has a really nice EVF. So the experience will be much better than the one you had before. For micro-four-thirds shooters, this lens will be a lot of fun. Most of the issues with the corners and edges will be gone because of the crop factor and you’re left with a crazy sharp lens with nice contrast if you can keep it in focus. Sharpness might not be quite as crisp as a software corrected AF lens, but where this lens shines is in bokeh, build quality, form factor (the thing is TINY) and overall usability. was founded by seven photographers who wanted to make lenses, so they did. They have several different offerings, all of which are very inexpensive yet intriguing. The 25mm lens for Fujifilm has an equivalent focal length of 37.5mm, which is slightly less wide-angle than the X100F, but a similar focal-length.
This lens is available in Fujifilm X mount and the Micro Four Thirds system. I shoot the Fujifilm System. The Pros and Cons as I see it. Proscorners can be a problem but I do get acceptable pictures from time to time in casual landscape shots in outing
