About this deal
For handheld use, the Router includes a base with two hardwood handles that are very comfortable to grip.
This means that while the DWP611 is a fantastic woodworking CNC router, it’s not suitable for cutting metals. However, it has a variety of useful features and functions that make it a great router in its own right.I know this router is expensive. I know there are smaller and cordless ones you could buy. But why? Even has a sometimes user of this router (I don't do this work professionally), it will still do everything I could ever need it to and more. In fact, I probably should have also bought with it the router table or plunge base, but I didn't think I'd need those things. I think at minimum, the table would be a good accessory for this router, because you move the piece instead of the router, and with the built-in guide, it can make precision edge cuts even easier. Finally, it’s important to consider a router’s durability, particularly if you’re using it for long, demanding work. Most routers use aluminum cases to protect the motors and generally offer good durability, but that doesn’t mean they’re all as well made as each other.
Openings with wide base plus a 2-inch sub-base opening that accepts bigger bits and improves visibility. Despite all of that, one of the most well-known router uses comes from their ability to add designs to wood edges and making profiles for things like furniture or cabinet doors. You would be hard-pressed to ignore the little bit of something extra a beautiful cove or roman ogee profile can lend a finished piece. Want to take your woodworking to the next level? Well, outside of the table saw, a router is definitely an investment you don’t want to skip.On the other hand, bear in mind that this is a fairly low-power router that’s not ideal for demanding projects or working with hard materials like metals. The above are the fundamentals to consider, but you should also bear usability in mind. This doesn’t come into play quite as much as if you are using a router manually, but small features, such as the Dewalt DWP611’s base LEDs, can greatly help to improve your experience and therefore your work. Durability RPM has a big effect on two of the most important parts of CNC working – the materials you can work with and the speed with which you can complete projects. What sets this router apart from most is that Bosch added in design features that allow it to work even better with my beloved Bosch Router Table. This Router Table is well loved by both hobbyists and professionals, and while I had great success with my existing DeWalt Router in it, I wanted to open up those last few features and see how this combination could improve my shop a bit more. Bosch 1617EVS Router Review Features Put differently; more power means faster and more precise and robust cutting. This corded machine comes with a 12-amps, 2.25hp rated motor that can deliver speeds between 8,000 to 25,000rpm efficient for a wide-range of routing operations with a top-quality finish.
If you’re looking for a cheap, no-thrills router for your CNC machine, the Carbide Compact Router is a solid and reliable choice. The second Bosch entry on our list, the 1617EVS is one of the German manufacturer’s most popular routers. What primarily sets it apart from the two we’ve covered so far is the considerably larger 2.5 horsepower. In some ways, such as HP, collet size soft start function, and aluminum body, THE DWP611 is very similar to the Makita RT0701C, but there are some key differences. For starters, the DWP611 has a more limited variable speed range of 16,000-27,000 RPM. Bosch is easily one of my favorite power tool manufacturers. While no one brand gets it perfect every time, I have yet to be disappointed by the big blue. The Bosch 1617EVS Router combines everything you could want in a router. Excellent features, more than enough power, easy customization to suit your needs and stellar performance. The best bonus though is this Router is a particularly good value for the performance and features you receive. I know for me, I bought this Router to be mounted in my router table, but I loved it standalone too. All in all, this Router is a great option for those looking for a variety of uses and want to get the performance they need for the tough jobs you may encounter in a woodshop. REVIEW OVERVIEWThe wide speed range means it’s suitable for working on a wide variety of different soft materials, such as plastics, wood, and non-ferrous metals like aluminum (which the lower RPM ranges are particularly useful for). The electric speed control keeps the speed constant to help ensure your projects run without any hiccups. It also has some of the key features found in the best routers for CNC machines, including a soft start circuitry and constant response circuitry that maintains consistent RPM for cleaner cutting. The body is made of rigid aluminum that offers great durability and reliability. Bosch included a microfine bit-depth adjustment to give better control to bit height, something imperative, especially when using the router for operations like joints where every small degree of measure makes a large impact. AMP MOTOR AND ADJUSTABLE SPEED DIAL: user can set the optimal speed (8,000-25,000 RPM) for more or less power
