About this deal

Dive into a world of star-cross’d lovers and jealous rivals, or get lost in a swooning Regency romance. The poems themselves are quiet and unassuming, and the victories small: being seen, finding an answer, winning a tennis match, laughing with your sister. I See You (2017), and Rainbow: A First Book of Pride (2019) all from Magination Press, as well as Love Is Love (Little Pickle Press/Sourcebooks, 2018). I did enjoy the story line though- it’s very similar to what the little girl I nanny for faces daily; bullying, being unsure of herself and wanting to be excepted by her peers while also dealing with her brother who’s autistic and trying to find ways to help him (like Frances tries to find acceptance while being Chinese, finding a way to navigate school and home and to help Clara and find out why she’s losing her hair…) at the end, things settle and most questions go unanswered for Frances but her and Clara find a clear path to each-other to keep each other company in what sometimes can feel like a lonely world. Not sure that the verse format was executed in the best way and the ending was not all that satisfying.

As the books are made from high-quality paper, they would also make a very special first wedding anniversary gift. From playing pranks to their adventures travelling, they are proud to share their love for each other (and their cute furbaby Roscoe) with the world. Using specialist printing methods, your photos will be depicted with HD quality, so even fine lines and details are crystal clear. We may use this information to make you recommendations about offers or content that we believe you will find interesting. The character seemed to change over the course of the book from one person to another one--at least in the illustrations--and while it could have been the case that this was intentional to show that youngsters can be cruel to many others about their families, I felt disoriented. This bespoke, personalised I love you book has a beautiful custom cover, which is created from one of your photos and your chosen line of text.

Personalise your epic illustrated characters – from skin tone, to hairstyle, and extra touches like glasses, beards or a headscarf. Five children from different countries show us who they love and how to say 'I love you' in their own languages. Among the many great ways that GLSEN advocates, this group funded the free "Gay Prom" every year in our county, and my son was lucky that his high school was always the location. But there are a couple of things that I really don't like about this book, and that kind of affected my view of it. There’s a visual storyline of flying kites that come together to form a rainbow, just as all the children come together with their parents, allies, and a larger supportive community to celebrate that what makes a family is love.

It's a story told with a first-person voice, and it starts out showing a little white boy wearing a t-shirt with a rainbow heart on it. In accessible and gentle language LOVE IS LOVE tells the simple story of these families…spoiler alert…they are just like every other kind of family. The boy finds out through a series of discussions with other children, that his family is not that much different and that his should be celebrated for the family they are.

This would be a good book to read to children when they have questions about same-sex relationships. As paper is the traditional gift, this book will make a traditional present so much more contemporary and heartfelt. The tale proceeds through teasing, using "That's so gay" as an insult, the meaning of what is a "real family," same-sex parents, the hurt that comes with bullying, the importance of fairness, and being "different," - in a truly upbeat and common sense manner.Matthew and Ryan know it can be an emotional rollercoaster, and they are here to support and guide you every step of the way. I hope that the publisher updates the book, and I hope that the author sincerely apologizes and learns how to do better in the future. As the verse novel unfolds, though, Frances becomes determined to figure out why Clara’s hair is falling out.
