About this deal

Moving over to Star Wars Battlefront II, the pew-pew of my TIE Fighter's laser blasts resonated vividly around my ears amidst the thundering propulsion. The sound field doesn't feel immense, but it does come off as a bit broader than Astro's option. And the roaring engines of Forza Motorsport 7 on Xbox One impressed almost as much as the game's dazzling graphics. Almost. If you're willing to spend more on a headset, then you'll find plenty of perks, including Bluetooth wireless support, dazzling designs and surround sound capabilities – and those may be worth spending for. But if you don't want to splurge on a headset and just need something that's capable, versatile, and seemingly built to last, then the Corsair HS50 absolutely lives up to the task. The following text field filters the results that follow as you type.Use the arrows keys to access the autocomplete results This headset is one of the cheaper options, making it a good budget buy, but we found similarly inexpensive models that we would recommend over this one. Conclusion Immerse yourself in 7.1 surround sound *, creating a multi-channel audio experience that puts you right in the middle of your game.

Our last metric rated and compared how convenient the HS50 Pro is to use by looking at if the mic is detachable, if it has a sidetone, the length of the cable, and the onboard controls. We found this headset to be above average in this regard, earning it a so-so score. It's a straightforward stereo headset, built for pumping your ear holes full of shotgun blasts and thumping tunes, as well as keeping you in sync with your squad via its unidirectional noise-cancelling microphone. In fact, it's pretty similar to the slightly pricier Astro A10 headset, which we recently reviewed – but in nearly every respect, the Corsair HS50 goes one notch better. It shines in nearly every respect, starting with the durable, premium-feeling build, which has a nicely understated appeal and comes off as a pricier device. And once you pop it on your dome and plug in, the HS50 keeps outshining its price tag thanks to full, immersive sound and strong microphone performance. Which means i have basically no option (beside setting it to +30) to make me sound louder. When holding presentations id prefer to be way louder. Id rather tune down the volume if needed than to be limited to this as the max volume. High-quality, custom-tuned 50mm neodymium audio drivers deliver the range to hear everything you need to on the battlefield.

Onboard controls mute the mic and adjust volume. We like that the mute feature is a button, rather than a slide switch, making it much easier to use. The HS50 also keeps its inputs on that cup: it has a small volume dial, along with a handy on-off toggle button for muting the microphone. There's no raise-to-mute option like on Astro's A10, but the button works just as well. Better yet, you can fully remove the microphone – also on the left cup – which makes the HS50 all the more ideal as an on-the-go headset. Just keep tabs on the mic: it's small and thin, and could be easily misplaced. If Windows does not automatically set your Corsair audio device to output sound by default, you can use your Windows taskbar to enable it for use. We started by rating and ranking how comfortable the HS50 Pro and all of the other headsets are to wear. We looked at the ear cups, the headband, and how many hours we were comfortable wearing the headset when it came to determining scores, with the HS50 Pro scoring just above average.High-quality, custom-tuned 50mm neodymium audio drivers deliver the range to hear everything you need to on the battlefield. BRING YOUR AUDIO TO LIFE everything about the headset is okay but one thing I seem to notice is that the earcup starts to tear up a few months after buying it If you have any programs open before enabling your headset, Windows will frequently default their sound settings to whatever you’ve previously set. If you close the programs and then reopen them after you enable your headset, you should be able to hear them through your headset. In following thread the phenomen is described as "sidetone audio through the earcups" [ https://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1774989]. The steps described did not fix my problem.
