About this deal

It has a rather unique shape compared to the rest here. It’s a rounded shape that’s more oval than anything else. The speed LEDs are also located here and not under the handle as was on the predecessor. Different button location; now it’s more consistent with the other two Hypervolts and more practical than the previous Go. We were also hoping for some kind of rotary dial as we saw with Hypervolt 2 Pro. That felt unique and cool.

Hypervolt Go 2 - Featuring Quiet Glide Technology - Handheld

Not really a unique design – tons of guns look the same i.e. it borrows a leaf from Ekrin’s design book as far as the ergonomics go. We all know how Hyperice doesn’t seem to pay as much attention to how long the amplitude is as their archival Theragun. The latter have always associated long amplitude. We have seen full-sized guns this size. The only difference is that this one has a shorter handle; which isn’t the best thing – we’ll talk about that in a few. Fast forward to 2023, and while many things have changed including the approach of both brands to device design, Theragun’s commitment to percussive therapy remains steadfast, retaining the long amplitude feature. At first glance the Go is smaller than the two regular sized Hypervolts (we’ll say about 30% smaller than the large device). It’s definitely not the smallest mini massage gun in the market, perhaps Hyperice should’ve cut the size a little further. The Hypervolt Go 2 uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can last for three hours of usage, so you could go a few days between charges. The light at the base of the handle indicates just how much life is left in the battery. If you were to use the massage gun at the highest speed setting, the battery will likely last around two hours, which is still plenty of time as it’s recommended you only use a percussive massage gun like this one for a few minutes at a time or else you could potentially injure yourself. Hypervolt Go 2 Battery Light While the original Theragun Mini left much to be desired, the Mini 2.0 is a game changer in the mini massage guns arena. We were hoping for a bit more stall force on the GO 2. However, there isn’t much to celebrate here just like the older device. With full-sized guns, Hypervolt 2 – entry-level – better corresponds with Theragun Prime. Hypervolt 2 Pro can correspond with Theragun Elite given their almost similar stall force. Or, more specifically, it is somewhere between Theragun Prime and Elite. The battery has a bit more capacity than the previous Go. That explains the added weight and the larger body.

Hyperice Hypervolt 2 - Featuring Quiet Glide Technology

The Go came in late in 2020 (November to be precise). Maybe Hyperice took too long to introduce their mini-gun. Was it worth the wait? Let’s find out! Theragun Mini easily corresponds with Hypervolt Go 2. We have done an in-depth comparison between these two in a seperate post: Hypervolt Go vs Theragun Mini. The battery has 2350mAh capacity and will last for 2-2.5 hours per charge. We noticed that the battery drains faster when you are using it on the highest speed. It may be a tiny massage gun but Dyna Mini comes with 4 attachments unlike Theragun Mini. They offer a lifetime warranty, just like Ekrin, and have a superb customer support system – we had a smooth buying experience. Another positive is that the Go 2 costs less than any of the full-sized Hypervolts. This means if you absolutely have to get a Hypervolt then this would be a nice and affordable entry-level gun from a reputable brand. If you buy it for what it can offer you, then it will do the job just fine. We remember watching a video about the device and how the Hyperice guys went on about this device’s design. They say that the main focus was to design something that people would like to carry around with them.

Unlike the Go 2, the latest version of the Theragun Mini actually connects to a smartphone app via Bluetooth. The Therabody app allows you to access a library of wellness routines and helps to guide your massage with smart technology. According to reviewers, “it is useful for beginners” because it offers “automated guidance and vibration settings for various uses.” Color Options All the Hypervolt massage guns are also TSA-approved for carry-on, making them a convenient addition to your suitcase or handbag. The Hypervolt 2 has an estimated stall force of about 25 pounds and a stroke length of 12 millimeters. It's incredibly quiet, so you can massage your muscles on the go without disturbing coworkers, other travelers, or housemates. One reviewer wrote: “This is a very good quality massager. It was recommended by my massage therapist because of my very knotty muscles. So far, I'm impressed with everything about this little gadget and my muscles are already feeling better after a week. You won't be disappointed!” Slightly bigger, yet still very compact ones. We call them small massage guns instead of mini. Example devices Hypervolt Go 2, Renpho R3, or Taotronics PCA004. The Hypervolt Go 2 is Hyperice's smallest, lightest, quietest, and least expensive massage gun with, ironically, the most powerful force. Its slanted rubber handle is easy-to-use, and its noise levels only rise to 55 dB maximum. This device contains a brushless high-torque 40-watt motor that can expel forces up to 3200 rpm. Like other Hypervolt massage guns, the Hypervolt Go 2 comes with a one-year warranty, the Hyperice app, extra head attachments, and TSA approval. The Go has a stall force of about 15 pounds and a stroke length of 10 millimeters, meaning it's not the best choice for deep tissue massage, but is great for a surface-level massage.

The Go 2 doesn’t feel like a mini massage gun. We would say it feels and looks like a compact version of the Hypervolt 2. We will talk about the size shortly, but it suffices to say that even though there’s a noticeable structural difference with the original Go, not much has changed. Earlier Hypervolts were Hypervolt 1.0 and Plus which was replaced with 2 and 2 Pro models last year. They are still available in some outlets, though. In our opinion this is ridiculous (all pun intended). How many times do you think you’ll have to press the button on the device to find the right range?

Hyperice

It’s a bit disappointing that a highly priced massage gun only comes with two attachments. We have reviewed several mini devices that come with at least 3 attachments, some even 4. Available colors: White | Speed Settings: 2,200 / 2,750 / 3,200 PPMs | Dimensions: 5.5 by 5.5 by 2 inches Shape & Design The build quality of this mini massage gun is equally impressive. It not only feels durable, it is durable: we’ve had it with us on a number of hikes, and even though we accidentally dropped it a few times, nothing bad ever happened to it. This is part because of the sturdy, and slightly rubberized plastic it’s been made of, and part because of how well it’s been put together. Ekrin Bantam is tiny, light, and durable – great travel massage gun. However, compared to a full-sized Hypervolt, the Go is less bulky – about 30% smaller. It’s also worth noting that it’s TSA approved for carry-on – it’s within the 22” x 14” x 9” range. This one offers a slightly different proposition but it’s still a better alternative in our opinion. Other noticeable features include a one-button operation which we believe you’ll find very useful and convenient. It also comes with five attachments, the most of any gun on our list (ex-aequo with Bob and Brad Q2 Mini). In fact, some mini massage guns will offer you just one (like Theragun Mini 1.0). Smallest devices, which we like to call as mini massage guns. These are Ekrin Bantam, Lifepro DynaMini, as well as the Bob and Brad Q2. It comes with 5 attachment heads, which is awesome because with a full set there’s more to your massage session.
