About this deal

O’Shovah’s mastery of Mont’ka has bled into the martial culture of the Farsight Enclaves. Its warriors are experts in the deadly art of engaging the enemy in close confines. Some further thoughts: he certainly is terrible at Warlord vs Warlord, and when you need to win a battle with him you need units with that can carry on the fight on their own. Playing Warlord + One unit is a surefire way to get that unit routed or preferentially targeted.

When his natural talents were boosted through artificial means, Aun'Va could implant powerful auto-suggestions that would last a lifetime and instill unbreakable loyalty. Any models embarked within another model when it embarks upon this model do not count towards this model’s transport capacity. While a model is embarked upon this model, models embarked within that other model may not disembark. Models may not disembark from a model in a turn in which it disembarks from this model. Fire Markerlights (Action): One or more MARKERLIGHT units from your army can start to perform this action at the start of your Movement phase. AIRCRAFT MARKERLIGHT units can perform this action. The action is completed at the start of your next Shooting phase. If this action is successfully completed, for each model in that unit that is equipped with one or more markerlights, for each markerlight that model is equipped with, select one enemy unit within 36" of that model that would be an eligible target for that model if its unit had been selected to shoot, and roll one D6: on a 3+, that enemy unit gains one Markerlight token.’ Some Ethereals have been known to accompany T'au forces into battle, and indeed a number always accompany T'au colonisation and expansion forces. It has been theorised by Imperial scholars that T'au, especially those of the Fire Caste, not operating under the high-level guidance of an Ethereal are likely to regress to the warlike state that so nearly destroyed their species at the dawn of its history.

Burst weapon: A weapon whose profile includes the word ‘burst’, or a Relic that replaces a burst weapon. While a VEHICLE or DRONE unit is performing the Fire Markerlights action, that unit can move without that action failing. If it does, until the end of the turn, models in that unit without the VEHICLE or DRONE keyword that are equipped with any markerlights are treated as not being equipped with any markerlights for the purpose of the Fire Markerlights action. The T'au Ethereal dissection depicted above clashes with depictions of T'au anatomy in other sources, where the T'au are depicted typically possessing hooves rather than toed feet. Mustering a Boarding PatrolWhen mustering a Boarding Patrol, if your Faction is T’AU EMPIRE, then the following rules apply when adding units to your Boarding Patrol Detachment, and they take priority over the normal rules for mustering a Boarding Patrol.

The inhabitants of this system adhere rigidly to their beliefs, which must be reconciled with the T’au’va to Plasma weapon: A weapon whose profile includes the word ‘plasma’, or a Relic that replaces a plasma weapon. Ralei: "Let me start you off. It's a story I heard from a trader an the edge of the Damocles Gulf. Seems this O'Shovah was a great hero of yours in the Fire Caste. Genius at whatever he did, just so long as what he was doing was fighting. Isn't that how it is with you T'au? Water Caste to talk and debate, Air Caste to shuttle you around, Earth Caste to do the dirty work. Everyone with their niche, no interbreeding, no intermixing. So, O'Shovah sets off to reclaim some colonies, and naturally there's an Ethereal in charge. Except the Aun gets killed and O'Shovah ends up in command. Suddenly there's no one reminding him about the bloody Tau'va, and he's a long way from home. So what does he do, Aun? I mean, like you said, the Tau'va is something you choose to follow, yes? Surely O'Shovah would've carried on with the peace and tranquillity crap, despite it all? Aun?"When the Tau codex was updated in 4th/5th ed he was removed from the codex presumptively for early retirement. GW then made an announcement about his triumphant return to 6th/7th ED. But like any prize fighter past his prime, his speed and abilities were lost in the current meta. Now he is only a character of legend where his once above averageness is only heard in whispers in the dark basements of your FLGS. The zeitgeist of the people was pivotal, for belief in progress and continued faith in their own superiority would sustain them in the coming years. None who saw Aun'Va's noble attempts to persuade the last Human defenders to lay down their arms could help but be impressed. Although the barbarians refused and in the end had to be eradicated, it was still a sight that stirred something in every T'au, triggering a reaction of pride and determination.

Rather, he guided the Fire Warriors through his wisdom and his ability to inspire his followers to seemingly impossible feats. An Ethereal is a member of the fifth caste of the T'au species, forming a ruling elite above the Fire, Earth, Air, and Water Castes that make up the bulk of the T'au population. If you selected a Tactical Philosophy at the start of the battle, T’AU AUXILIARY units that are in the same Detachment as units with this tenet benefit from your army’s selected Tactical Philosophy.

Mining World

The builders and artisans would be the Earth Caste, the traders the Water Caste, the messengers and scouts would become the Air Caste, while the warriors of the plains would be known as the Fire Caste. While none of these losses are tremendous, these sorts of small details are the sorts of things between a good army and a great one. Aun’shi does have advantages of his own- the extra wound, the CP saved, the shield, and the melee combat, but these have to be weighed against whether you will get use out of them. If Aun’shi gets caught in combat, is he going to die even despite his 4++? Will it make a difference given the enemies you are likely to face at a tournament? Will the slower speed be relevant- how do you deploy your Ethereals, and how do you keep them safe? Do you use Saviour Protocols to protect your other units often, or is it largely a non-issue? None of these questions have strict right or wrong answers, but they require balancing different factors against each other. The Ethereals of Fio'taun is the most well-known legend of that time, and is known by all T'au in the T'au Empire, for it tells of how their people were rescued from the brink of self-annihilation by the introduction of the ideology known as the Greater Good. Aun'El Basel'kyth - Suspected by the Imperium to be the head researcher/philosopher of Tau forces in the Jericho Reach, Aun'El Basel'kyth is currently thought to be located in the Beldar Academy on the planet Tsua'Malor. After a long rule, the ethereal supreme, Aun'Wei, knew it was time for his Last Walk, the ceremony when an ancient member of that secretive caste disappears forever within one of their mysterious temple-domes.
