About this deal

The Series 8 has 6 cleaning modes (daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive, intense, whitening & gum care) compared to the 7 of the Series 9 (daily clean, sensitive, intense, whitening, gum care & tongue clean). The extra mode the iO9 has is tongue clean. As the name implies this mode is more gentle. It is designed to offer a softer, but thorough clean. It helps those with sore or inflamed gums, but reducing the number of movements in the brush head, making for a more comfortable brushing experience, until the sensitivity has gone or reduced. This mode is great if you are suffering from gum disease. In the sections below we compare Oral-B brushes that are close to each other in price and features. Model by model comparison Pro 600 vs Pro 2 2000 For me, the fancy charging stand isn’t too big a factor. If bathroom visuals are important to you, maybe the magnetic stand is worth paying for. Otherwise, you can get by just fine with the cheaper stand. Both come with a premium travel case and a 2+ week battery life. A visible pressure sensor, 2 minute timer and pacer are built-in too. iO Series vs Genius X

Experience a breakthrough in cleaning and gum care with the dentist-inspired, revolutionary technology of the Oral-B iO Series. The Oral-B iO Series 7G Electric Toothbrush combines powerful, but gentle micro-vibrations with Oral-B’s dentist-inspired round brush head for a professional purifying clean every day that delivers 100% cleaner teeth and healthier gums*. Five brushing modes Multiple brushing modes give you the chance to tailor your brushing to suit your needs. The Oral-B iO Series 7 has five brushing modes: Daily Clean, Sensitive, Gum Care, Intense Clean and Whitening. Of course, the table and quoted prices are just a guide. The actual selling prices vary from one retailer to another. Using the intense mode won’t necessarily remove more plaque from the teeth and gumline. You don’t need a whitening mode to make your teeth whiter — the daily clean mode can achieve this.

Oral-B's BEST EVER CLEAN with REVOLUTIONARY MAGNETIC iO TECHNOLOGY for a professional clean feeling & gentle brushing experience I am confident that the Genius X motor is more powerful. I think the Pro 5000 you might have has something in the region of 8,800 oscillations and either 20,000 or 40,000 pulsations. The iO9 and 10 can hold the handle and 1 brush head only. This is because you can charge the brush inside the case. There is no battery in the case to do this. Instead, you connect the supplied proprietary power adapter. Smaller and less unsightly, it is designed to sit on a worktop rather than adhere to a wall or mirror. You just need to pop your phone in it, which takes a couple of seconds compared to the tens of seconds with the Genius brush configuration. You phone then sits in portrait or landscape orientation and shows the on-screen timer. We were enormously impressed by the performance of the Oral-B iO Series 9, and the Series 6 is basically identical, from first impressions to final testing.

All modes are designed to be used for 2 minutes. The only exception is tongue clean which is set for 30 seconds. In just 1 week REMOVE 100% MORE PLAQUE and GET 3X HEALTHIER GUMS* switching to ORAL-B’s MOST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY *vs a manual brush. There is no battery in the case, to charge the brush and anything connected via the USB cable the case has to be connected to mains power. Below, is a list of models we have compared to one another, plus some that we have compared to their Sonicare equivalents. INTERACTIVE DISPLAY signals vital information: including brushing modes and head replacement reminder, greets you as you power up & gives you a smile for a job well done

One of the biggest differences is that the Pro 2 2000, which is the more premium model offers an extra cleaning mode. So, both models come with a place to store brush heads, but the compartment with the 9000 is better than the stand offered with the Smart 6. Lasting up to 16 days or 66 minutes in our testing, that is an extra 4 days or 16 minutes of usage time. Smart 6 6000 vs Genius 9000 Those with displays show a battery icon and a percentage of the remaining charge after each brushing session. Artificial Intelligence This smart toothbrush can determine where in the mouth it is, and through the Oral-B app you can access an array of associated data that should help you improve your brushing habits. The Series 9 comes with a power2go charging case that allows the iO to be charged inside whereas the Series 8 comes with a standard travel case.

Despite both brushes coming with multiple brush heads, the travel cases provided with each brush are capable of holding the brush handle and 2 heads only. The Smart 6 comes with1 x CrossAction, 1 x Pro White/3D White and 1 x Sensitive brush head, but the Genius 9000 comes with one additional brush head, that is the FlossAction head. Smart Pressure Sensor displays a red light when brushing too hard and green when brushing just right. Both do a job and give a home to brush heads, but the 9000 is a neater and more desirable solution. Although both have 5 cleaning modes, they are different. The iO5 has daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive, intense and whitening, whilst the iO6 has daily clean, sensitive, intense, whitening and gum care. The iO5 has super sensitive whilst the iO6 has gum care.

A more budget-friendly version of the iO Series 9 that cuts no important corners

The iO3, 4 and iO5 have a yellow light that illuminates in the center of the cleaning mode button. The handle will vibrate too.
