These Bergeon tapered wall dies are reversible (each piece has two different sizes, one on each side). Comes in a set of 13 pieces. For fitting certain crystal types, including tension rings. I also plan to put a fillet (0.25?) on some of the outer 'corners' mainly for aesthetics, and one on the entry to the seat to make it easier to get the movement in, but didn't get time to add them to my sketch, blue circles above.

If you do a lot of flat thin crystals, these flat Delfin dies give you a more even pressure as you insert the crystal in the case. The second picture shows a die with cut out which is a must for installing crystals with a date bubble. This is my preferred method for all compression fit crystals. Unfortunately, it is not possible for front loaders and you will still need to use the Crystal Lift style tool.

These Bergeon lower stakes dies are reversible (each piece has two different sizes, one on each side). Comes in a set of 11 pieces. For fitting certain crystal and case closing. Insert the watch case or bezel on top the crystal and gently press down. While pressing down you move the case or bezel onto the compressed crystal until you can feel the crystal inside the grove and release. In some instances, a specific type of lift or wrench can be used to remove these tension ring crystals - usually these are brand specific tools, and are not a "one size fits all" that a typical crystal lift would be. This 15 piece assortment comes with Bergeon 5499-Q (36.5 x 36 mm), 5499-P (35.5 x 35 mm), 5499-A (34.5 x 34 mm), 5499-B (33.5 x 33 mm), 5499-C (32.5 x 32 mm), 5499-D (31.5 x 31 mm), 5499-E (30.5 x 30 mm), 5499-F (29.5 x 29 mm), 5499-G (28.5 x 28 mm), 5499-H (27.5 x 27 mm), 5499-J (26.5 x 26 mm), 5499-K (25.5 x 25 mm), 5499-L (24.5 x 24 mm), 5499-M (23.5 x 23 mm), and 5499-N (22.5 x 22 mm). Comes in a set of 9 bakelite lower stake dies. Assortment includes Bergeon 5500-01 (40 mm), 5500-02 (36 mm), 5500-03 (32 mm), 5500-04 (28 mm), 5500-05 (24 mm), 5500-06 (20 mm), 5500-07 (16 mm), 5500-08 (14 mm), and 5500-09 (12 mm). Once again, Bergeon has listened to the needs of the watch repair industry servicing luxury watches. Bergeon already has the largest selection of screw-on dies, what was needed from Bergeon a truly precision straight screw press to go with the dies Bergeon makes. Well, it's here now Swiss Made with Anodized aluminum frame with non-slip base that can be bolted down if desired. Truly Linear Spindle with Anti-rotation, allow for a straight traveling path while controlling precisely the distance the dies moves downward. Compatible with the complete range of Bergeon and Bergeon type screw-on dies. Supplied with die holder height 21 mm, optional die holders in heights 5 mm and 28 mm are available.

Once I get to grips with it, I'll post the freeCAD design on thingiverse and you can also PM me for it from here 🙂 They make Acrylic crystals in 0.1mm or 0.02 increments or 1 to 2 tenths of a millimeter. Sometimes you will see them listed as a 300, 301, 295, 296 which would be translated to 30.0mm, 30.1mm, 29.5mm, 29.6mm. respectively.Reversible Thread-On Delrin Dies for fitting very domed watch crystals. Die diameters: 18 mm, 20 mm, 24 mm, 28 mm, 30 mm, 35 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 50 mm, 55 mm, 60 mm, and 65 mm. Reversible dies are domed in one side and flat on the other. Works on small, normal and jumbo sized crystals. All Horotec thread-on dies will work with the Bergeon 5500 Press. I’ve also contemplated just trying to remove the metal edge holding the Roman numerals from inside the case, but as far as I can tell having had a close look in my stereomicroscope (40X), the inner rim of the watch case holding the Roman numerals is an integral part of the case, i.e. not removable. I don’t have a camera for my stereomicroscope so here’s a macro shot (iPhone with macro lens). Perhaps it is indeed removable and it’s only an optical illusion? What do you think? It certainly won’t budge one bit when I try to pull it and wiggle it. Here is what I sketched in my lunch hour (including a doodle I did whilst on a very boring conference call) on Friday:
