About this deal

For the cloak, paint all over Naggaroth Night, wash Druchii Violet, highlight the protruding flat bits with Xereus Purple, edge highlight Genestealer Purple. Standard-issue detachment rules (the newest version as seen on Tau), so only one Craftworld per list. I’m still not sold on Fire Dragons. I love that unit and they got some badly needed boosts in their damage output and interactions with other units (Falcons, Webway Gate), but they’re still handicapped by a high potential to do nothing. Many of their primary targets in the meta carry a decent invulnerable save and their true enemy, variance, is real. An opponent spiking on 4+ invulnerable saves then immediately wiping your Fire Dragons that had been its main threat will never feel good, and in the typical six GT tournament will happen more likely than not. Perhaps most limiting is their Exarch abilities, which are good but expensive, and aren’t particularly impactful coming out of reserves or a Falcon. The Gate creates a little bubble around it

The following information is not to be regarded as officially sanctioned and/ or is not written from an in-universe point of view. A detailed explanation of the term "Trivia" as used in the Lexicanum can be found here. To round it all off, most of the green gems on the weapons were done by painting two coats of Ork Flesh straight out of the pot. Amidst swirls of ethereal light and destructive reality-folding vortexes, the Ghost Warriors united bring about the full vengeance of the Asuryani dead. Though considerably larger than other Aeldari, the Ghost Warriors come in a number of different forms. These include those described below. The wraith-constructs in which the Spirit Stones are housed are made from no common material -- they are crafted from wraithbone. At least as strong as ceramite, wraithbone is an organic material -- grown from pure psychic energy, not forged, and able to self-repair over time. In deadly melee, the Wraithblades take the lives of the foe just as their lives were taken in the ongoing battle against the extinction of the Craftworld Aeldari people.Summoned into being by the necromantic processes of the Asuryani Seers, only a true hero of the Aeldari species has spirit enough to animate the massive wraithbone shell of a Wraithlord. An Asuryani army may be accompanied by several of these heroes of ages past, but, like all of their kind, they are dependent upon the presence of living Aeldari for their sense of purpose. The Aeldari are a long-lived race, but in the aftermath of the Fall, they faced a slow demise, and a horrifying afterlife – for Slaanesh has staked its claim on each Aeldari soul in death. In response, the Asuryani bound themselves to soulstones, which capture their souls at their deaths to prevent Slaanesh from taking them. In times of great need, these soulstones are embedded in wraithbone constructs, so that the dead can bolster the armies of the living. There are many such constructs, including the mighty Wraithlord , the towering Wraithknight , and beyond. Fire Prism The great measure of control afforded by this gestalt mind gives the pilot mastery over the construct's psychically-powered weapon systems and affords the war machine an acrobatic grace that belies its massive size.

Making good Battalions has always been a challenge for the Asuryani, and this book is no different. Guardians and Storm Guardians both go up to 4+ saves, get AP on their weapons, and conditional re-roll 1s to hit (Defenders if they’re holding an objective, Storm Guardians if their target is), and that’s all neat, but a starting price tag of 90pts for ten Defenders, going up by at least 20 if you bring a platform, makes them pretty pricey for what you’re likely to get out of them. Storm Guardians are slightly cheaper, and bringing their fancy new Serpentscale Shield gives them some good anti-shooting defences, but that’s also 20pts meaning a squad jumps to 100. It feels like filling out armies with these is going to need you to take a Webway Gate, and at least there being able to reliably dump ten Storm Guardians onto an objective on turns two and three might be worthwhile, but it feels like in both cases the platforms could maybe have borne starting at a lower price. Speed and precision are the name of the game, as most Aeldari units – from Aspect Warriors to Fire Prisms – can move fast and hit hard, but can’t weather much return fire. Aeldari armies are highly mobile, a specialised scalpel that can bring down a much more powerful opponent by careful application of incredible force.Just before we start, we’d like to thank Games Workshop for providing us with a review copy of this book, and with some of the models you’ll see pictured within the article.
