About this deal

Once happy with the positioning and the film is flat to the glass, spray the non-adhesive side of the glass film with the installation fluid.

This film simulates real reeded glass. Bands are 13mm wide and band direction is vertical, down the length of the roll. Water bubbles are a factor in window filming that can not be avoided. Depending on the tools and pressure applied, you may remove up to 95% of the application fluid. The remaining 5% due to surface tension will form small bubbles and if left alone, will completely dry. This process normally takes no longer than 30 days but can take up to 60 days depending on the quality of installation. If you notice small bubbles that start to appear after all the water seemed to have gone, this is perfectly natural and part of a ‘curing process’. This pumpkin cast iron dish has become my favourite piece of cookware I'll be using long after HalloweenOnce you are happy with the positioning of your film, liberally spray the surface of the film. This will act as a lubricant for your squeegee or felt edged tool.

Our ‘SX-’ coded textured window films, also known as Solyx, covers our most extensive range of any of our product categories. Some of the textures that can be achieved within Solyx include antique mirror glass, coloured glass, cotton, etched glass, frosted glass, mosaic and reeded glass. However, you’ll also find plenty of window films with special effects that can create a dazzling colourful spectacle for your window glass too. There are unlimited designs to explore for commercial window films including general glass, window glass, mirror glass and even wall coverings. Thoroughly spray and soak the glass surface AND the static side of the film with the water mixture. Wetter is better! There is no such thing as too much water. The water will allow you to easily apply and reposition the film before you squeegee—and any excess water will evaporate after the film fully clings. All films can be easily removed without any damage to the glass. Begin by peeling the film away from one corner of the glass and pulling down until the entire panel is removed. If any adhesive remains, it can be easily removed with window cleaner, soapy water or a single-edge razor blade. Please ensure that your specifications are correct and complete, as UK Glass Centre will not accept

Using the reeded film has saved us a fortune. I hated our Victorian internal doors and wanted to change them for modern ones but I was torn because they are original. My husband found this film online and we think it looks excellent. The best bit is that I change the film to match out décor over the years. Such a great idea. Suddenly I don’t dislike the doors as much and its saved us a lot of money. Sometimes called Fluted glass, this is a textured stripe finish moulded into the glass surface. Multiple flutes are side-by-side with a common 1/2-inch or 1/4-inch spacing. The pattern bends light as it passes through the glass and this obscures your vision. Why is Reeded glass texture so popular? We put the reeded film on our bathroom window and we really like how it looks especially during the day when its sunny. Our bathroom glass already had a slight blur effect to it but we didn’t like the pattern. This reeded pattern goes on top well and really modernises the space.Wetting solution is the secret ingredient to a smooth, seamless installation. Make a solution by adding 8-10 drops of a mild, non-moisturizing dish detergent (Dawn or Joy; do not use hand soap) to a 32-oz. spray bottle filled with clean water (adjust ratio for smaller or larger bottles). More soap may be needed when applying film to acrylic surfaces. Mix well. Processed ( toughened and non toughened, polished edges, holes, radius corners etc) - 10-15 working days Tools: Scissors, Tape Measure, Razor Knife, Ruler, Plastic Card Squeegee, Spray Bottle, and Paper Towel. With the exception of films specifically labeled and made for exterior application, always install film on the interior of a window. Film applied to the exterior will easily fail due to exposure to the elements. Warranty does not cover any damage to film during installation or any issues resulting from the improper installation of films. Starting from the Middle/Top, with your professional squeegee, push the water out towards the edges, and then down the middle with a liberal amount of force. This should create a T shape which creates a seal. (Note: If you encounter resistance between the film and squeegee, simply apply more of the application fluid.) The Reeded film looks great on the new cabinet that we upcycled this month. Looking forward to the next projectWe’ve introduced a new range of NINE colour options for our popular 1/2 reeded window film. The new coloured range of reeded window film is here. Avoid cleaning the material for the first 30 days, this will allow the film to completely cure to the glass. B2B commercial supply and fitting is our strength but we also supply reeded glass film to DIY home users via ‘Lustalux at Home’. Options are endless; internal doors, windows, shower screens, cabinets, utility sliding doors, mirrors, cupboards, external doors and bedside units. Please note all doors (External & Internal) & any window that isa within300mmof any dooror within 800mm of the finished floor level must be toughened or safety glass. The principles of handling film are the much the same no matter what kind of film you are using. Once you are happy with the size of your piece of film, lay it on a clean surface and slowly remove the clear liner. Get someone to help you if it makes it easier.
