Some of Better Call Saul's ties to Breaking Bad are outright continuity nods. Characters return, and plot points from one show feed into another. However, some are more metaphorical and thematic. Throughout Breaking Bad, Hector Salamanca's refusal to look Gus Fring in the eye is a major part of their relationship.
