However, most people don’t believe in giants, but rather scoff at the idea, saying it’s all just folklore that got mixed up and sensationalized by newspaper journalists. We disagree, as there is ample evidence within Native American mythology, genetic data, ethnological studies, scientific reports, early excavation records, first-hand accounts, and discoveries featured in newspapers and town history books to suggest otherwise. Now is the time for academia to take a look at this data, and to investigate what really happened at the Smithsonian, as an important chapter in human history is on the verge of being lost forever.
The origins of the North American giants are hotly debated by independent researchers, academics, and skeptics, but there is now enough data to begin serious research into the subject. In addition to the human skeletons found in NY State, there is also the famous case of “The Cardiff Giant,” a white alabaster-like statue of an 11-foot man which showed an exposed penis and hieroglyphic inscriptions. This statue caused a world-wide sensation and was exhibited in New York City to thousands of paying customers before it was declared a fake by the NY newspapers, despite the fact that scholars from Harvard and elsewhere insisted that the statue was genuine. In later encounters between the giants and Israel the outcome is always violent leading to warfare and bloodshed between the two groups. Ogres are technically giants, right? Well, Ogre, Ogre, is the fifth book in the Xanth series. The novel follows the story of Smash, a half-ogre, who goes to see the Good Magician Humfrey to get his question answered, even though he doesn’t know what his question is. Along the way, he discovers that seven young girls have turned to him for guidance and safety. Two things are suggested in this statement from Ecclesiasticus. First, that the ancient giants had extraordinary might and power. Secondly, their destruction occurred because they relied too heavily on this power. In 1519, Spanish explorer Alonzo Álvarez de Pineda was mapping the coastline of the Gulf Coast, marking the various rivers, bays, landmarks, and potential ports, declaring that they belonged to the king of Spain. Not far from where the river empties into the Gulf of Mexico he “ found a large town, and on both sides of its banks, for a distance of six leagues up its course, some forty native villages.” 3 He also noted that other than giants, the tribes also had a race of tiny pygmies.
