The big shining stars this season come from the character arcs of Tory (Peyton List) and Hawk (Jacob Bertrand). There's a lot to clean up here with these kids all coming together, and now it's time to march on into battle. If you thought the all-out riot at the High School that capped off season 2 was spectacular, the end of season 3 fight was smaller scale, but much more brutal. Cobra Kai takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).

In the semi-finals, Miguel and Eli are first to compete against each other resulting in a pulled back muscle for Miguel. This is one of Cobra Kai's greatest elements is that show creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg continue to surprise with the many layers of their characters that seem one note on the surface, but somehow manage to keep everyone on their toes with how sympathetic they are.

Johnny later decides to let Miguel continue training, they are joined by Sam who says she wants both Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang training. Hawk initially faces resistance with the other Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do students; however, after he proposes that he and the other students build an Okinawan sparring deck on spare land at the dojo for practice sessions, they begin to accept him. The season ends with a real feeling of togetherness, a much more hopeful tone than we got for season 2's crushing finale. Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List, who recurred since the first and second seasons respectively, were added to the main cast.
