About this deal

Now I probably could clean the chain after every ride, but my process is so time consuming it seems unfeasible. I hear stories about people cleaning chains after every ride, having it take 15 minutes total, and never having rust, so I'm pretty sure I'm doing this sub-optimally. My process takes over an hour, is very tedious and expensive, and doesn't produce good results in my opinion. Gas 1, H220; Weight fraction: 2.5 <= x % < 10 Spray the chain with chain wax/lube, spin the tire a few times to get it everywhere, and then wipe off excess

So please, if anyone has any tips to speed this up/make it better, I am begging for some help. I know it's not supposed to be this hard! We're not going to pretend that you need to precisely follow this guide - you could just spray on some chain cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes then scrub it off with a bit of help from a hose but if you want to do a proper job, follow these 7-steps.BUTANE: INDEX: 601-004-00-0; CAS: 106-97-8; EC: 203-448-7; (EG) 1272/2008: GHS02, GHS04; Dgr; Flam. Gas 1, H220; Weight fraction: 25 <= x % < 50 I live in Washington state, so it is very wet here most of the time, and even if you choose not to ride in the rain, the roads are almost always damp. Because of this, I have to clean/lube my chain pretty often, probably once every couple days, depending on how often I ride. Even so, I recently found a fair amount of rust on my 6 month old chain. Once I am exhausted from trying to get it dry and it still is slightly dirty (after probably 30 minutes of wiping and spinning the tire), I give up

Wipe down with paper towels, because a regular towel will become totally filthy in no time at all. This uses a lot of paper towels and takes the longest out of any step. P210 - Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Even though you want to get the chain looking nice, don't neglect the central links at the expense of shiny outer plates.

ISOBUTANE: INDEX: 601-004-00-0; CAS: 75-28-5; EC: 200-857-2; (EC) 1272/2008: GHS02, GHS04; Dgr; Flam. Gas 1, H220; Weight fraction: 10 <= x % < 25 Apply the chain cleaner: You don't need to spray it like the champagne on a MotoGP podium. Spin the chain around one complete revolution directing the cleaning spray into the centre of the links. Rinse and repeat: Give your cleaning brush a good hosing off, then direct the hose at the chain, rinse it off then srub the links again with the brush, then rinse again. If the chain isn't free from road crap, give it another once over with the chain cleaner and repeat the process.
