We like to say Luna is suitable for an “adventurous beginner”, by the time you have made her and her clothes you will know a lot more than you did on the first stitch. We designed Luna to help teach you how to sew and give you the confidence to start stitching and dressmaking. Just have a go! Another little slice of fantasy, fun and fabrics from the lunaverse of handmade heirloom felt friends. Plenty of beautiful images, tales to tell and outfits to make in miniature for the long winter evenings ahead as we all huddle under our wearable fleece blankets, clutching hotwater bottles. Luna Lapin and her friends themselves are usually hand sewn, although customers have succeeded in using a sewing machine. Most of her clothes are machine stitched and some are knitted. I think it was easy to follow along in the description as mom and I created a bunny each. The how-to images are great help, the patterns in the correct size (whoot whoot!) so no need to find a copy-machine to enlarge anything, and the images are simply adorable. I think they’re my favorite part. Oh and the fact that mom sewed soo many bunnies (she kept one and gave the rest away to her friends) from this book and a whole wardrobe for her Luna Lapin. I will post more pictures of our process later.
Luna was designed to be passed down by generations as a special heirloom toy, and I think one well-done bunny would warm any kidz heart. But it’s okay to keep her for yourself too, right? That’s what I am doing. Or to gift her to someone who is a kid at heart in one way or the other… We do sell vouchers and are available in any amount, you can find them here, they can be spent online and in store. As with all our kits, the instructions are thorough and include diagrams and photographs to demonstrate the sewing steps. In some rare cases we may have to charge extra for postage because of a particularly large item or if posting overseas.
