About this deal

I visited it many times and he lived to a ripe old age, a really lovely bird and a real character of Croydon which was loved by everyone.

And Ponty's or some other name still exists near Lloyds TSB upstairs in the Whitgift close to West Croydon. In 1928, Kennards was purchased by the Drapery Trust around the time that Debenhams had acquired Drapery Trust. They suggested that even London Zoo kept monkeys out in the cold but what they failed to see was that monkey hill had caves with heating inside, so that animals did have a choice. Always contains something along the line of 'I USED to love going in there', or 'haven't been there for ages'.Bloody hell, Paul - we must have been rubbing shoulders - or at least waiting for each other to finish on Tron :D Mr. This is for the postage only we do not charge you for our time or our excellent packaging, which we are noted for.

The photograph was taken in the early 1960's, by which time the Croydonisation of Croydon had just started. there also used to be a butchers in surrey street where they are bulding flats, just down from murray's,who incidently have had a drastic change in staff. Kennards was very public spirited and gave further assistance with the grower's vegetable market of 1947, which was advertised as being the first market of its kind in Britain. There were tally-ho bargains, mystery tables, streets of adventure, clock days, a real zoo, and Shetland pony rides to name but a few. The zoo came under a lot of criticism as the cages were not considered to be ideal conditions for animals. Right so enough about the history of Kennards … The Menagerie had the following collection Originally hosted some monkeys, a camel, a peacock, some birds and other small animals.
