The issue I was having that affected both the invery and the bovee I think is iPhone specific - namely - it all works fine, phone calls go to the PCM, music goes to the adapter, but there is some interaction, and the music audio drops and sometimes the adapter resets and the car thinks the ipod went away - it's solved by disabling the Bluetooth phone side on the pcm - but then you lose that feature ( I don't use it often - but I like things to work as well as they can ) - so I went to a wired solution which works for iPhone with the right adapter but likely wouldn't work at all for Android) the bovee 1000 and the slightly cheaper invery version of the same thing are more expensive than the regular 30 pin dongles becMaude they emulate an iPod to the car not just “some sound on the audio pins” It's still more than I paid 3 years or so ago, but not the silly money they were asking last night for the Bovee.
Temperamental for sure - as others have mentioned, generally I've found the most consistent way to get it to work is to disconnect the Bovee bluetooth specifically (but not shutting off bluetooth altogether), and then connecting it. After waiting for my phone to say it's connected, I use the behind the steering wheel button to change audio input to ipod, and it's usually there. It knows ipod So it doesn’t have any idea about the Bluetooth remote protocol so can’t drive an android device Like it can drive an iphone. I have an obsession with steering wheel controls for audio ( had an audi without for 13 years ) - so I like that one extra step for integration ( and as an iPhone user - I am working with different set of options/challenges). I totally get your setup and most importantly - works for you for approx 50 quid - no wrong answers there. If above is a YES then when going into settings external media you should select "AUX" within the 6112..mine works flawlessly everytime. However, you MUST have an ipod interface already available on your car. Can’t plug into a usb connector as near as I can tell. I suggest not Bluetooth pairing the iPhone to the car when you are using this either. Only this connection. Wireless connection with any Apple device via special Bluetooth technology with automatic re-connection , no need to manually plug iPod in every time
wild guess based on some Experience and bit of understanding of how Bluetooth profiles work i would guess that android is always going to be “just sound“ when hooked up to the PCM 3 Connects iPhone/iPod and cars original iPod interface wirelessly using Bluetooth technology - no need to manually plug iPod in every time According to a post on another forum, the version with part number 8E0857925G (or H for the RNS-E) was when Audi updated their tech and this happened around 2009, meaning my 2007 8E0857925C part would have the older connector.Owners of electrified Jaguar and Land Rover models will be able to charge their vehicles at home with unrivalled style thanks to a new agreement with fellow British company Andersen EV.
