About this deal

Wang M, et al. (2023). Green-engineered barrier creams with montmorillonite-chlorophyll clays as adsorbents for benzene, toluene, and xylene. Sculpey Clear is also a runny white syrup, similar to white glue when unbaked. It doesn’t have any graininess. It does not seem to form bubbles during the curing process and bakes remarkably clear, yet with a slight cloudiness. Compared one-on-one, it does not get quite as clear as Kato Liquid, but it’s awfully close. After baking, it has a slightly rubbery feeling that doesn’t go away when a heat gun is used.

We have taken some time to consider how to evaluate this product and give it a score that best suits it. If Autoglym had come to the market with a colour changing fallout remover and marketed it purely as this, the product has potential to be rated as a 10/10. By calling it liquid clay, we see what they were trying to do and in one sense it's a clever name but unfortunately on the other hand it is misinforming and unclear. The product branding reads as though the product could replace clay by doing the same job and leaves a smooth finish. Whilst true of subsurface and surface ferrous deposits, it won't remove many of the bonded contaminates that clay will remove. As such, like other fallout removers it needs to ideally be used before or after a clay treatment.Whiteside TE, et al. (2020). Elevated arsenic and lead concentrations in natural healing clay applied topically as a treatment for ulcerative dermatitis in mice. Turgut R, et al. (2022). Development of cholesterol-lowering and detox formulations using bentonite and herbal ingredients. A 2023 study suggests that calcium montmorillonite clay may enhance the antibacterial effect of barrier creams against Escherichia coli formation. A 2022 study suggests bentonite clay nanoparticles helped to remove trace elements of residual lead and cadmium from milk. Below are the answers to some frequently asked questions about bentonite clay. Can people use bentonite clay on their teeth?

A: Clay bars may take longer to use, but they remove more than just iron from vehicle surfaces. Clay bars can be used to remove iron, tar, tree sap and paint overspray, so they definitely still have their place on your detailing shelf. Despite this research, further studies on human models are necessary to further understand the extent of bentonite clay’s ability to remove toxins from the body. How to use

Note the slight cloudiness of all but the Kato Liquid. This effect can be reduced greatly by coating the surface with Varathane, as you can see in the photo below. (Top to Bottom) Here’s Fimo Liquid, Sculpey Clear, and TLS that have been half-coated with Varathane to show that adding a varnish to the top of the cured liquid clay surface will enhance the clear and transparent result. Using Liquid Clay as a Clearcoat Khan MM, et al. (2022). Assessment of antimicrobial potential of Plagiochasma rupestre coupled with healing clay bentonite and AGNPS.
