About this deal

The Arks of Omen have taken the galaxy by storm! Everyone seems to want one, and more and more factions are mustering Boarding Patrols to get in on the latest craze going down in Segmentum Obscurus. The Grey Knights are classic sculpts granted, but are really showing their age, and it doesn’t help that 95% of the box is outdated like that. It’s the big heads that get me – it really is a screenshot from a bygone era. I’d love to see the Grey Knight range get the refresh they deserve so they can look eye to eye with the heretics and daemons they were engineered to hunt. That’s 265 points right there. I’d also want another unit of Legionaries to up the “boots on the ground” count personally. That’s another 180 points, too. We need to leave room for Wargear and with those additions we’re at 1820 points. Maybe another 20 cultists or if you’re feeling extra spicy, drop 10 cultists and add in 5 more Terminators. That will give you a bit of wiggle room for wargear (although not by much — we’re talking 50 points). Ok, so with 16 miniatures, we have almost reached the 500 point threshold required for Boarding Actions, with only 40 points to spare, and no upgrades to pad out those points other than giving everyone a Nemesis daemon hammer. Unless you add in individual Grey Knights (which cost around 20 points each), you won’t likely be able to reach that fortune 500 with other Grey Knights stuff. Thundercloud1: Well I’ve always had a soft spot for Death Guard since 3rd edition, and this is a great little force that shows attention and love to every model. Weathering, the use of contrasting spot colours, and conversions help bring out the character that we love in the Death Guard.

Two squads of three highly customisable Tyranid Warriors provide an adaptable, formidable core to claim the Ark. Meanwhile, eight fast-moving Genestealers – fielded as a squad of five – act as an insidious vanguard to a towering Broodlord. By the Emperor’s Golden Throne, do we have a problem! This is the first Boarding Patrol that has gone over 500 points, making this list illegal in Boarding Actions. And that’s without any upgrades or wargear. So what can we do? You can read more about this awesome terrain kit in our interview with its designer earlier this year. If you missed it, we look at the latest pricing and values of the new Warhammer 40k box sets in separate posts below: This set is a must-have for any Warhammer 40,000 player looking to add an elite Adeptus Custodes force to their collection. Here are the details:

Three New Boarding Patrol Boxes Announced By GW

Boarding Patrol: Adeptus Custodes is a miniatures game from Games Workshop set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. In this game, players take on the role of the Adeptus Custodes, a highly skilled and elite group of warriors tasked with protecting the Imperium of Man. The rats do have proper respiratory equipment, in case you’re worried. House Cawdor might be fanatics, but they’re not monsters. Both the Allarus Custodians and Custodian Guards do splendidly in range and melee combat. Allarus Custodians have the privilege of Teleport Homer, meaning they can be redeployed elsewhere on the board 9″ away from enemy units. As we’ve covered in previous Boarding Patrol articles, any unit that can disappear and reappear somewhere else is extremely useful and will want to be used very strategically – imagine squatting some beefy Custodians on unclaimed objectives, giving your opponent thought for pause before they consider taking it for themselves.

Captain-General Trajann Valoris: This indomitable leader is claimed to be the greatest warrior to hold the esteemed title since the Emperor strode the stars. He is a key asset to any Adeptus Custodes force, and can be built with a range of deadly weaponry to suit your playstyle. Getting a squad of boarding assault space marines with shields was a dream of mine since the days of the Siege Assault Vanguard list. I started 40K wanting to work toward that Siege Assault Vanguard list, but the rules moved on before I could. These Veteran Intercessors pay homage to that tradition with their considerable weight. The boarding shields were printed by a 3D print-on-demand service using a file from Thingiverse. With Commander Farsight running around the Arks of Omen chopping up everyone in sight, two more crimson-clad gangs of melee enthusiasts have arrived to claim his crown in the latest episode of Battle Report . It’s a three-way Boarding Actions showdown between the Farsight Enclaves, the World Eaters, and the Flesh Tearers – and woe betide any poor soul who brings a gun to this sword fight. This Boarding Patrol contains 17 models in total – one gunslinging Kelermorph inspires a team of 10 Acolyte Hybrids, who can also be built as Hybrid Metamorphs, while a hulking Abominant is joined by his little Mindwyrm Familiar friend, and five nearly-as-hulking Aberrants.
