About this deal

Prada Candy Night comes out in March 2019 as the new edition within the youthful Prada Candy line. From a young girl to a daring and independent Prada woman, Prada Candy Night is announced as a lively, alluring and sensual fragrance, "more serious" in relation to its predecessors. In other words, the flankers of a fruity floral originally released in 2007 and aimed at teenagers will all repeat a core fruity floral flavour for many decades in the hope of attracting teenagers time and time again and as a form of iterative logic for immediate franchise recognition, modulating slightly to account for taste changes, despite the fact that consumers who were 18 when they initially bought the original are now 33, with different needs and preferences! In defence of this strategy is the assumption that 18-year-olds will outgrow the DNA of the line by the time they're 30 in terms of both scent style and brand messaging regardless of how different a flanker is; however, repeat purchasing and brand loyalty in perfumery is generally high, and nostalgia plays a big role in driving meaningful interactions with scent. The gourmand composition of the new edition is composed of orange essence, cacao, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and white musk. It is conceived as a contradiction between the fresh energy and addictive sweetness of the notes. Prada did something incredibly clever in its evolution of the Candy line that most brands never think of. After the identity of a pillar perfume, in the sense of synchronising target demographic values with olfactory codes such as teenage exuberance and fruity florals, has been set, the standard approach to flanker development is to suspend that symbiosis between consumer segment and scent profile in a perpetually fixed state.
