About this deal

Also check out some of our favorite board games too, with guides to the Clue game rules and the Logo board game rules. As Patrick mentions, one can try to succeed by managing to synchronize every player to the same timer clock and attempting to see if everyone can count at the same rate. An odd rabbit character features on all the life cards and the box art, though I never really was able to discern a purpose for this character. If the 35 was just played, and you have the 37, you should play it relatively quickly, while still giving just enough time for the 36 to be played if it is out there. The Mind is a card game for 2-4 players by designer Wolfgang Warsch and was nominated for the Spiel des Jahres award in 2018.

You start with one shuriken too, and if everyone wants to use a shuriken, each player discards their lowest card face up, giving everyone information and getting you closer to finishing the level.Reprieves come in the form of extra lives and Ninja Stars that allow players to halt a round in progress to let all players discard their lowest value card. If a player picks up their cards and groans, it doesn’t necessarily ruin the entire experience, but it’s giving information to all the other players that takes away from some of the skill required to play the game. Some groups may not like this — I’m not saying it is for everybody — but it is unique and worth trying, and regardless, you’ll learn a lot about your teammates with The Mind . Plus, different player amounts feel very different and alter the number of levels for even more variety. Play multiple games with the same group and chances are you will naturally start to read each other better and have some of those cool moments where you somehow know who has the 58, who has the 59, and who has the 60.

In a level, each player receives a hand of cards equal to the number of the level: one card in level 1, two cards in level 2 and so on. Rounds begin when all players put their hands in the middle of the circle, then take them out to signify that they are ready to begin.Depending on the round, the player card count changes equal to the current round (level one players get 1 card, level 2 players get 2 cards, and so on).
