About this deal

For the week that ended on June 12th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Raya and the Last Dragon topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts for the fourth week in a row, but this week, she had some fresh company in the form of two new 4K UHD . and uses a Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range (HDR), Dolby Vision, and is encoded using the HEVC (H. With healthy, lifelike facial complexions throughout, the fourth entry makes for an impressive step up over its HD SDR counterpart. The most noteworthy improvement is the radiant specular highlights supplying a crisp brilliance to the gold objects and a tighter glow in the hottest spots, allowing for superb visibility in the light fixtures while plumes of fire lap the air with better clarity and realism. This father-son element is made all the more memorable with a prologue that shows an early adventure, possibly the first, with a young Indiana Jones (River Phoenix) battling treasure hunters.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom brings you non-stop thrills and excitement like nothing you've ever experienced. Reportedly coming from a fresh 4K remasters of the original camera negatives, which were approved by Steven Speilberg, the beloved classic swings into Ultra HD territory with a winning and spectacular HEVC H.Best of all, the video enjoys a wider, richer array of secondary hues, showering the action in eye-catching variations of mocha browns, sepia tans, buttery yellows and fiery oranges. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom brings you non-stop thrills and excitement like nothing you’ve ever experienced. When you combine that with the pristine visuals, I’m surprised there’s not a cognitive dissonance where you feel like Raiders could have come out recently and yet it also retains its look and feel to where you don’t feel like you’ve lost the grit that Spielberg was going for.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusadecomes to UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray courtesy of Paramount as part of their lavish Indiana Jones 4-Movie Collection. In addition, all four films were remixed at Skywalker Sound under the supervision of legendary sound designer Ben Burtt to create the Dolby Atmos® soundtracks. However, unlike the first two, this quest for the King Arthur legend adds a deeper, more poignant meaning to the overall story by serving as a clever metaphor for our hero reconciling with his distant father. Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark will debut an exclusive one-week engagement in select IMAX theatres beginning September 7, 2012. While you wait – or to prep for the new movie – you can watch all four other Indiana Jones movies on Disney+ if you're a subscriber.

As with the other movies, this Atmos track remains true to its original front-heavy design, except that there's a bit more consistency in the surrounds and rears.Otherwise, the native 4K transfer is highly detailed, and the elements appear to be in excellent condition, showing true, inky blacks with strong gradational differences in the various shades and in the darkest corners of the frame.

Both sets also include a flyer with codes for Digital Copies of all four films, which can be redeemed through either VUDU or iTunes, giving owners access to 4K versions of the movies in Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. Crystal Skull bandied around funky-looking aliens from scene one, dangerously hitting parody levels for its ultimate "Crystal Skull" shenanigans.

There's a fine sheen of grain, which remains light and pretty damn consistent across the duration, and the composite shots don't tend to stand out as much as on the first - and particularly third - movies, perhaps because they were shot more cleverly, or perhaps there were less modern trappings (aircraft being a curse for the third entry in this department). Disney has confirmed that the final Indy outing will arrive on Disney+ in the US on Wednesday, December 1. The most crackpot and outrageous of these is the rollercoaster-like chase inside a mine shaft and the dinner scene with a variety of exotic but disgusting foods. The story was littered with the usual plethora of thrilling stunt-driven setpieces, and frequently went deliriously over the top, but with CG came the curse of excess, and Spielberg appeared to just want to double-down in this respect.
