About this deal

Based on tooling first released in 2011 during the Star Wars [Shadow Of The Dark Side] line, Hasbro made that vehicle specific to the Death Star Trench Run from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. While we never personally clamored for this vehicle's release, it's good for the line to keep larger-sized vehicles in the lineup, even if that means through exclusive channels. In another, Merrick compiled all information from Rebel Intelligence on the differing models of the TIE line the rebellion faced, including Grand Admiral Thrawn's TIE Defender. Status: Antoc Merrick’s X-Wing Fighter is repaint of the X-wing Fighter from 2011's SW [SOTDS] Death Star Trench Run Toys R Us exclusive multipack.

He contributed in the decisions to cycle the U-wing out of escort duty, and use X-wings as the backbone of Starfighter Command. It’s been recast in the blue-green color of Merrick’s flight suit, and given a new head sculpt, which is outstanding. Prior to the outbreak of the Galactic Civil War, Merrick served as the flight leader of his homeworld's planetary defense forces, which was known as the Virujansi Rarified Air Cavalry.

Sometime after joining the Rebel Alliance, Merrick earned the rank of General, and was made Commander of Rebel Alliance Starfighter Command. Despite having logged hundreds of hours at the controls of a U-wing, Merrick's preferred craft when leading a squadron was Blue One, his T-65B X-wing starfighter. We're not sure if it matches the likeness of the onscreen character all that much, but there are some similarities. Antoc Merrick commands Yavin 4’s starfighters before the Battle of the Death Star, flying as Blue Leader. Taking the exact vehicle, Hasbro now repaints it as the blue X-Wing Fighter that Antoc Merrick used in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. While we're not crazy about the packaging, the Rogue One logo doesn't look right on this style of packaging), it's nice to see another "new" vehicle available for purchase. It was a peak Star Wars moment that made a lasting impression on fans, who immediately began requesting a figure of the Rebel pilot as well as his ship.
