The silicone tray has been given a steel rim which makes for stable carrying to the freezer, and once you’ve put the lid on you can stack trays on top of each other to save on precious space. The concern about space and removing all frozen cubes to a freezer bag for longer term storage is actually what we recommend ourselves and we think of the trays more as moulds than as long term storage containers.
