These are demonstrated by the heroic toys in the story, as they succeed not by brute force (they're all plush, opposed by wood and metal toys) but by heart, by sacrifice, and by friendship. "A missing eye and a couple of missing ears don't mean anything... we are still the same stout-hearted group..." L: I'd like to be much better at woodworking. I'd like to be much better at everything, actually, but that's the first thing. Molly and Neil, accompanying a stray dog named Virgil, set off on a mission to rescue the town’s children, many of whom are trapped in their homes. Meanwhile, the people at the tavern, split into warring factions, struggle against the mysterious threat that has seized their town. Oddly, Virgil seems to be able to supernaturally sense when and where certain children are endangered. It is revealed, later, that other animals are also leading rescue efforts to save other children.Coneybeer, Justine, Boersma, Martijn, Bolger, Sarah, Kallio, Karina, Maguire, Rowena, O'Brien, Erin, et al. She wonders what could have frightened such animals into leaving the sanctuary of the deep woods to brave the proximity of human beings. Disturbed, she steps outside, to stand among the wild beasts, and is frightened herself – not by the animals, but by the strange, oddly luminescent rain. On an instinctual level, she realizes that there is something unclean about the rain. Huh, you know what, I SWORE you could rebind keyboard controls with Steam Input but now I can't figure out how??

Our holy empire of the Alliance of mankind has fulfilled our destiny. Remember the many heroic humans who have died in conquering the stars for you. Therefore, do not let misguided sympathy toward inferior and conquered animals deter you from your inherent title of divine rulers of the universe. Do not lose this birthright by succumbing to the "attractions" of any alien creature. Remember the penalties imposed by the Supremacy of Man party for this transgression. I am reading this book again bc I remember it being outstanding when my youngest son was very young, 35 years ago. I tried and tried to get him to any book, and the plan did not work until, this book was found among the store. This was the very first book that my son EVER read in its entirety. This time I might try reading it with audio and see if the story changes its tempo. Will let you know.
