About this deal

LEGO has produced numerous renditions of the famed Knight Bus. 75957 The Knight Bus seems remarkably authentic when compared with past designs, more faithfully resembling its onscreen counterpart. The updated window arrangement looks marvellous and I am quite impressed with the detailed interior too. In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, a talking Shrunken Head with a Caribbean accent was hung from the rear-view mirror.

In a International trailer for the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry says to Stanley Shunpike while riding the Knight Bus: "Isn't this a bit dangerous?" to which Stan replies: "No. We haven't had an accident in about a week." These lines were cut from the final version of the film. Finally, the Knight Bus was first commissioned in 1865. [2] The idea was proposed by then- Minister Dugald McPhail. [2] One of the most iconic vehicles in the Harry Potter series, it was super-exciting to see the Knight Bus transformed into a Lego set. Harry Potter fans have been creating amazing inspired Lego art for years now, so it's not surprising to see Lego itself follow suit. And it doesn't disappoint. In fact, it could soon well appear in our round up of the best Lego sets for adults. I hope you have found this review informative. Although the capacity of the bus is not stated in the books, in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban a sign inside the bus states that the bus can carry 9 passengers, 3 on each level. The bus appears to travel over large distances with the sound of an explosion, indicating that it may use some form of Apparition to do so. The Knight Bus was so-named because, firstly, knight is a homonym of night, and there are night buses running all over Britain after normal transport stops. Secondly, ‘knight’ has the connotation of coming to the rescue, of protection, and this seemed appropriate for a vehicle that is often the conveyance of last resort. During the early 1990s, the Knight Bus's conductor was Stan Shunpike, who greeted passengers and handled baggage, and was driven by Ernie Prang. [1] Harry Potter: " How come the Muggles don’t hear the bus?" Stan Shunpike: " Them! Don’ listen properly, do they? Don’ look properly either. Never notice nuffink, they don’" — Stan Shunpike about how the Knight Bus remained unseen to Muggles [src]

Beds replace standard seating during overnight journeys aboard the Knight Bus, although this model only includes one bed. Nevertheless, it appears nicely detailed and opens to place a minifigure inside which is fun. In addition, the bed slides across two 1x8 tiles so replicates their dangerous motion from the film while Ernie Prang sits in the driving seat at the front. At least some content in this article is derived from information featured in: Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery& Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells& Harry Potter: Magic Awakened. Eight years have passed since 4866 The Knight Bus was released during 2011 and this brilliant model represents a considerable improvement over past versions. The vehicle measures 16cm in both length and height so its proportions seem more accurate when compared with the movie and the shape of the bus is almost perfect, due primarily to the shallower angle of its front windows above the cab. Concept art for the Knight Bus by Julian Caldow depicts it en route to Aberdeenshire, Cardiff, The Lizard, London, and the Isle of Skye. [10]In the book, items appear to jump away to avoid collision. In the film, the bus just swerves around or squeezes past (or through) obstacles, and in terms of the latter, the driver is shown throwing a switch that causes the bus to contract. The bus also becomes invisible within the distance, materialising when called, and vanishing when leaving.

The special Duplo theme is suited for children aged 1,5 and up. The recommended age is always mentioned on the box. I am equally satisfied with Ernie Prang, whose invariably alarmed facial expression looks marvellous. The white facial hair and round glasses both appear faithful to the source material and his olive green cardigan is brilliant too. Its intricate patterning looks particularly impressive and I like the muted colour scheme, faithfully replicating Ernie's onscreen clothing. After I build a new Lego set I always have a few small pieces left. Did I forget to use them? VerifiedThe bus may have something similar to a powerful Imperturbable Charm upon it as objects appear to get out of its way.
