Hexagon Head Sex Bolts are an internally threaded female barrel nut with a smooth barrel, and no serrations under a standard hexagon head form. To install, the pieces of wood to be joined are aligned, then a bolt hole is drilled through one piece of wood and into the other. These raised head barrel nuts are also known as raised head sleeve nuts and are available as standard in A4 stainless steel, making them ideal for applications that require superior corrosion resistance such as marine applications due to the exposure to seawater.
