About this deal

Other features include a waterfall that will make noises and light up – and a removable zip line piece that can be connected to the lair and used as a zip line. I also forgot about the big arrow launcher. It is hidden behind a secret door on the second floor and it will launch arrows a pretty good distance when used. It comes with two plastic arrows that can be shot, and my son also really loves that part. At the very top of this toy is a long perch that is meant for the bird character….which I can’t remember their name. This top lookout perch can be removed to have a toy “telescope” – which you child can look through. As the boys were sharing this toy, it would have been handy to perhaps have another figure with it – however this is probably more of an issue of sharing than anything and doesn’t matter when they are playing with it on their own. The exclusive Kion figure which comes with the set – typically both boys argued over who would take charge of this figure, and as usual, my bigger son won while my little one had to compromise and use another lion figure which we had from another brand. We first discovered The Lion Guard, which is a spin-off series on Disney Juniors of the original Lion King film, when we got it as part of a portable DVD set before going on a very long car trip to France this summer!

Lion Guard Rise of Scar Playset! Review: The Lion Guard Rise of Scar Playset!

Some pieces could be thrown – such as the toy boulder. The boulder is really light so little to no damage should happen from that. The zip line stand, Kion, and Janja are a little bit heavier, so some potential damage could happen here. Just use whatever technique you use as an adult to get children to stop throwing toys to prevent this from being an issue. Final Notes & Links of Interest<br>This toy is a lot of fun. It is not very annoying for parents, it is very safe, and most importantly – all the little features this toy has are exciting for kids and keep them having fun for a very long time. The good news here is this toy is very safe. There are a couple of small plastic pieces that could be potential choking hazards – so use proper adult supervision with small children. The big selling point with this toy is all the bells and whistles it comes with. The bottom part of the training lair is a waterfall door that can be “busted open” and a cave drawing lair that makes noises and spins arounds when the knob to the left of it is twisted. Some of the features are also hard for younger children to use. It can be difficult for them to attach the different characters onto the bungee clips for example. Also, every time it falls over the top lookout part seems to pop off, and my son has a lot of difficulties getting that reattached. That can get annoying – especially if they insist on removing it constantly. The boys absolutely love the series so when the opportunity came up to review The Lion Guard Rise of Scar Playset, I was keen to do it. Here’s what we thought… The toy is light enough that even if it gets pushed over onto another sibling, nothing bad is going to happen there.

The boys seem to really like the collapsing bridges and the lava pool trap too. You can pop the ball of lava into the pool and flip it up so that it pops up into the air. This playset is harder to find in stores than it used to be, and there have been a few other smaller Lion Guard playsets that have been released since. We listed those here for your convenience. A couple of negatives that go into this toy. It only comes with 2 figures – a hyena named Janja and the Lion Kion. That means you have to buy the rest of the characters separately to use all of the special features this training lair has effectively (for example – the bird perch really doesn’t work if you don’t own the bird toy). Certain toys that my children own really make me smile – with one such toy being the Lion Guard Training Lair Playset that my oldest child has. My son loves this toy – which is funny, because he doesn’t really like that TV show. The pop-out flames and light up eyes are probably the best feature of the play set – it’s quite impressive, especially if you try it out when it’s getting dark. The lion ‘roars’ at the same time too!The bungee jumping launch platform has always been his favorite part, and I could see any child launching different figures off of it – even if they aren’t a fan of the TV show. The nice thing about this toy is it make a few noises, but nothing that is going to drive you crazy. It has a few lights, but again, nothing that is going to drive you crazy. The annoyance comes from some of the features being hard for children to use (the older they get the less of an annoyance this becomes), the toy only coming with 2 character figures, and the top lookout part popping lose a lot. Most children are going to want to be able to have all the characters, so buying them is a little bit of an expense to get the full experience of this toy. An exclusive Kion figure comes with it too and additional features include fun lights and sounds and is suitable for children age 3+.
