About this deal

Dialogue, starting with narration, is delivered distinctly from the center channel and mixed perfectly balanced, with zero need for any volume adjustments to be made throughout. Sound effects get mixed into the front and rear channels, not just the height channels (again, as mentioned) and it creates one massive audio experience here. Again, fitting for the person the film is about. Alongside that, Luhrmann makes an awful lot of use of sound effects and there’s a beautiful dynamic range to them, again utilising the same balanced tonal mix of the music. Add in the perfectly captured dialogue that’s always clear (when it should be – some of Elvis’s songs have dropped words and slightly muffled lines, but that’s in keeping with the performance aspect of the design) and all three elements are in perfect harmony, delivering a wonderfully complex and layered mix that is an effortless and delightful listen. The film begins with an aging and decrepit Parker in the hospital going on and on about how wrong people are to blame him for Elvis’s death. After all, he’s the guy who discovered the greatest carnival show on Earth. He asserts, “without me, there would be no Elvis Presley.” While that’s probably true, we can’t help but wonder what Elvis might have become had the Colonel been a bit more hands off. We get a pretty good idea as the story plays out. Fit for a King: The Style of Elvis– Essentially the same as the others, though this one focuses on the costume design. Elvis is on UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray as a standalone 4K release and as part of the Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary Studio Collection from 16th October 2023.

Newly restored in 4K Ultra HD with HDR-10 and Dolby Vision, Blue Hawaii will arrive on 4K UHD Digital for the first time as part of the Paramount Presents collection later this year. As mentioned, Baz Luhrmann co-wrote the story itself here (with Jeremy Doner) and then collaborated with a few other writers on the screenplay. Doner is known for working as a writer on some episodes of TV shows such as “The Killing” (2001) and “Damages” (2007). Both of the other co-writers on the screenplay [Sam Bromell and Craig Pearce] have worked with Baz on past projects. Namely, Craig Pearce also co-wrote the screenplays for “Strictly Ballroom”, “Romeo + Juliet”, “Moulin Rouge!”, and “The Great Gatsby”. And Sam Bromwell had co-written numerous short films that Baz Luhrmann directed over the years. Warner Bros.' 2160p, HDR-enhanced (HDR10+/Dolby Vision) transfer looks to be an extremely crisp and faithful representation of Elvis'Elvishas some great elements to it, mostly Butler's performance and the music selections and sequences that Luhrmann has conjured up under his own beautiful, glitzy, unique style. Unfortunately, it's just too uneven and long to be the ultimate Elvis movie. But of course, with Luhrmann and his wike's costume design, the sets and costumes are simply gorgeous and perfect. Now, about that title: Elvis isn’t really a biopic about the legendary singer and his meteoric rise to fame. Many other films have that angle covered. Rather, it is also Colonel Tom Parker’s story – his version of it at least, and is told through the lens of Elvis’s ( Austin Butler, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood) complicated relationship with his cagey manager (a fat-suited Tom Hanks) who gets equal screen time. So, perhaps titling it Elvis and his Unscrupulous Manager might have been a more appropriate title. On second thought, just Elvis is probably good. Elvis” [2022] was one very unique biopic that managed to tell the story of Elvis Presley and his crooked manager in a different way than we had ever experienced in the past. Director, producer, and co-writer Baz Luhrmann has truthfully put together a great film here and star Austin Butler surely “gave it his all” playing Elvis as did even Tom Hanks, playing his less than likable manager [ “Colonel Tom Parker”] in the film.

musical icons is at least worth a once-over and, if nothing else, those more receptive to Luhrmann's very specific style of filmmaking may find Plot: What’s it about? Video: How’s it look? Audio: How’s it sound? Supplements: What are the extras? The Bottom Line Plot: What’s it about? So, that means first with the 1950s, then with the 1960s and 1970s decades the lenses changed to give it a unique visual style. The movie then received a 4K DI (digital intermediate) master.challenges of bridging three decades' worth of important locations including Elvis' Graceland mansions (and its interior decorations, of course), as Bigger Than Life: The Story of ELVIS“ (22 minutes, 23 seconds – HD) focuses on the man himself, Elvis Presley, and how this unconventional biopic pays tribute to his legacy as well as tells the story of his crooked manager.
