About this deal

Famous quotation: The oft-quoted lines of a letter from the Councillor of the Realm Carl Bonde to Axel Oxenstierna in April 1635 read: “It is hoped here, with the help of God, that this will be the West Indies of the Swedes, as great a benefit to them as the King of Spain enjoys…” (Source: National Archives). The action takes off about halfway through, and I found it hard to put down, especially once the not cat becomes involved and we reach a sort of gathering of forces. Appendix 11.C Effects on all travellers - Summary of predicted 2036 traffic flow percentage increases for the scheme (PDF 245KB) Our TBM has been named 'Jill' in honour of Jill Viner - the first female to drive a London bus in June 1974. Jill Viner is a fitting choice because of the new cross-river bus opportunities the tunnel will create, plus Jill's contribution to the history of women bus drivers in London and equality within the transport industry.

A midnight adventure leads to a battle like no other. Ancient legendary Irish figures, such as Queen Méabh, (and others but I hate ‘spoilers’) are called into action. An unexpected ally joins the fray. It’s an amazing battle of good versus evil. Rosaleen Darke has started at the local Grammar School as she was awarded a scholarship but is bullied by Emer McGuire and her gang. On top of that she is grieving the loss of her Mamó (grandmother). After a particularly bad day, Rose is unable to sleep and looks out of her window to discover it is hailing. She goes outside to investigate and the hail forms itself into a Frost Giant who gives her the tathlum, a magical red stone that contains the power to do great good, or great evil depending on who wields it.The police trail for Lina has gone cold, but now another girl has gone missing and she’s the same age as Lina - she even looks like her. Lelle is convinced that there is a connection and he won’t stop searching until he brings both girls home. The central idea is oh-so-familiar. Lelle’s daughter has been missing for three years, having disappeared from a bus stop one morning. Lelle’s marriage has broken up as a result, he has developed an alcohol problem and he obsessively searches the remote countryside looking for her. Meanwhile, a dysfunctional mother and her teenage daughter move in with a local, reclusive resident...and that’s pretty well all that happens for at least the first half of the book. It’s all very, very familiar stuff, it moves very slowly and I wasn’t convinced by either the events or the setting, so even when things did begin to happen I wasn’t really involved.

It's important that we test any improvement in air quality against pollution levels at the time of opening rather than from our previous work in 2016. For this reason, we are updating our initial forecasts which will guide user charging decisions and help us to identify if any local changes are needed. The outcomes of this work will be shared in 2023.

Through their courage and determination Rose and Emer manage to work through their differences to join the battle to defeat Balor. They also help their fathers to become more environmentally aware. And so begins a truly breath-taking, magical adventure as Rose discovers that the magic of the Silver Road, that has cast a protective net over Ireland, is in danger of disappearing. As the old magic weakens, an ancient evil is awakening. Can Rose protect the magic of the Silver Road and ensure its regeneration? Can she prevent the return of one who will bring terrible destruction? Since starting her new school, things have been tough for Rose who has been bullied regularly by Emer, the daughter of her father's boss. Feeling lonely, she regularly seeks refuge in one of the local shops where Gracie and Nellie are a comfort to her. One night, she wakes to find a Frost Giant in her garden who entrusts her with a powerful stone. However, when the stone falls into the wrong hands, things have the potential to go very wrong, and not just for Rose, but for everyone, as the stone can be used for great good or evil. With magic that runs through the land, it is up to Rose to try to put things right before it's too late. The census collection is designed so that each group of postcodes should contain at least 100 people (50 in Scotland). Which all makes me think of the Lord of the Rings. The eloquence of the introduction of characters, their journey, wants and needs. Friendships and enemies. Surprises and, to a degree, heartache.
