About this deal

For secondary sources like law review articles and books, if you want to cite a source that you cited longer ago in your paper than the previous footnote, you can use supra.

Written as a compilation of thirteen "life lessons", AFFIRMED breaks a silence about being biracial in America: the love, the heartache-- and the resiliency of an exceptional life transformed through racial healing. False teachers arose in the first century AD within years of Christ's ascension, but faithful teachers, preachers, translators, copyists, church councils (and much later, printers!) then made sure that subsequent generations of Christians would have a faithfully transmitted copy of God's precious and eternal Word. This process does not involve paradox or circular reasoning; it's just the way

I am open to the opportunities that November brings. I embrace change with grace and optimism, knowing that every challenge is an opportunity for growth and transformation." Footnote #8: See Neuer, supra note 6, at 9-11 (describing how establishing term limits for judges in Germany has instilled more confidence in that country's judiciary). This program provides fresh perspectives and offers new insights for spiritual directors accompanying women through the Spiritual Exercises. Drawing from her book, co-author Elizabeth Liebert, SNJM, PhD explores barriers that women from various cultures and contexts often encounter in the Spiritual Exercises and invites spiritual directors to discover ways of accompanying women that are transformative and liberating. Through the use of input, personal reflection and group conversation, this program offers twisdom for all spiritual directors who accompany women and men facing obstacles in their spiritual lives that flow from situations of oppression and injustice. Elizabeth, who also co-authored the first edition of Spiritual Exercises Reclaimed: Uncovering Liberating Possibilities for Women over twenty years ago, draws from the deep well of her Ignatian wisdom and experience with the Spiritual Exercises.

A spokesperson for the UN in New York sent the Guardian a statement about Mokhiber, saying: “I can confirm that he is retiring today. He informed the UN in March 2023 of his upcoming retirement, which takes effect tomorrow. The views in his letter made public today are his personal views.” The statement went on: “The position of the office on the grave situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel is reflected in our reports and public statements.” Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings." - William Arthur Ward

Would not some extra-Biblical source or sources have to be credited here as a relevant "testimony of man or Church" upon which the authority of Scripture itself must somehow depend? Such sources would include Church Fathers, Church councils, consensus within one's denomination or branch, trust in the Bible publisher(s), or, at the very least, personal belief or intuition. The Zotero Citation Management System has an option for generating Bluebook-style citations. However, Zotero's citations are frequently not Bluebook-perfect (especially for primary sources like cases and statutes), so you will have to fix them if you want them to be right.

We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:19-21 NIV, myemphasis). In his role as director of the New York office of the high commissioner for human rights, he has come under occasional fire from pro-Israeli groups for his comments on social media. He was criticised for posting support of the boycott, divest, sanctions (BDS) movement and accusing Israel of apartheid – an accusation which he repeated in his retirement letter. Peter may not have known that his two letters would one day find themselves in the canon of Scripture, but he certainly did know with full conviction and assurance that the apostle Paul's teaching had the apostolic ring of truth to it. Peter put Paul's teaching on the same level as "the rest of Scriptures." (A good question to ask at this juncture would be, "To Peter, what constituted 'the rest of Scriptures'?" but let's not complicate things any more than they need to be!) WE DENY that the Scriptures receive their authority from the Church, tradition, or any other human source. Reaction to Mokhiber’s outspoken departure from such a prominent UN position was mixed. Louis Charbonneau, the UN director at Human Rights Watch, told the Guardian that he had made a powerful argument against double standards in the stance of the world body.

For the short form of a case, the general rule is to use the name of the first party, italicized (as was done in footnotes #4 and #13in the example below). In this episode, we invite you to embrace the spirit of thankfulness as we enter the beautiful month of October. So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God (2 Peter 1:19-21 NASB, my emphasis). Tables 3 (international organizations, p. 299) and 4 (treaties, p. 302) have rules for citing international sources.
