About this deal

The Islay spring water, from which this gin is made, comes from "Dirty Dottie’s spring" on Octomore farm. It is used for the distillation and the bottling. [7] [8] After almost 3 years of extensive experimentation at our farm, we have meticulously combined four craft methods of flavour extraction, united by a secret modern twist to capture the best flavour experience for you. Six botanicals, among them cloves, cardamom and cassia bark, are cold-infused into a gin for seven days, creating a pale yellow gin with a bright, exotic, spicy nose – think cloves, cinnamon and candied lemon. Alc 43.3%

If you’re going to make the classic Italian drink — supposedly created in 1919 at Caffe Casoni in Florence — it makes sense to match the drink with an extra Italian gin . Portofino Gin uses botanicals grown on the hills surrounding the seaside town of Portofino in the North West of the country. It’s juniper and citrus forward, slightly bitter and floral, with bright notes of grapefruit and rose petals. All facts which make this gin excellent in a martini, but those citrus notes lend itself particularly well to a martini and adds a brightness to the gin-heavy negroni. The Botanist is slow distilled in the Lomond still "Ugly Betty," one of the last in existence. [ citation needed] The distillation takes 17 hours. [3] Ugly Betty [ edit ]At Warner’s, we believe that real tastes better. We’ve hand-crafted our 0% Botanic Garden Spirits to be a non-alcoholic alternative to our extraordinary farm-grown gins, so that everyone can enjoy a taste of the countryside at sundown, together. Inspired by nature’s bounty here on Falls Farm, we use water from our spring, real botanicals from our gardens and honey from our beehives to create sustainably crafted farm-grown drinks. Story: With the aim of bolstering the local community and creating new jobs, the Isle of Harris Distillery opened its doors in 2015. Anderson 'Burr' Bakewell gathered likeminded people together and emarked on what was a seven-year journey to opening the distillery. His belief was that the rare and elusive spirit of the island could be captured in a bottle and shared with the world. Story: Based under The Rummer Hotel in the heart of Bristol, sits the Bristol Dry Gin micro-distillery, which was established in 2016. Dubbed as 'a gin for the people', this gin has scrappy, fun, party-loving Bristol right at its heart.

In our research, we found that bartenders adore the herbaceous and delicately floral Fords Gin. Drinking on a budget? Bombay Sapphire Gin may cost less than other bottles—but it sure doesn't taste like it. What to Look for in Gin StyleThis can be done with fruit, zest, herbs, spices or roots like: lavender, ginger, cinnamon, mint, rosemary, thyme or peppercorns. Just think what you could do with The Bee’s Knees which uses a honey simple syrup. It would be delicious with any of these accents. Made by historic London wine merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd, the six-botanical spirit took two years to develop with Dr David Clutton – a man who holds a PhD in gin (yep, that exists). It was worth the effort. The Botanist is a fine choice for a Gin and Tonic. GinBoss does advise not to overpower the gin’s flavor with too much or too flavorful a tonic. Taste the gin on its own and decide which tonic will enhance not replace flavor. Take it in steps. The Botanist Martini Super-citrusy in its botanical mix and its flavour – lemons, oranges and blood grapefruit – but beautifully balanced, too, this is a seamless melding of flavours. Fantastic with tonic, but also in a silky-smooth Martini. Alcohol 47.3% One of my favorite ways to enjoy Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin is in a Martini. Nicely complimented by Vermouth, it’s best served up with a twist.

If the idea of an Indian gin surprises you, then it shouldn’t; the gin wave has rippled all over the world. Brands are taking the basic juniper-based gin template and giving it a defiant twist with local ingredients. Four Pillars (Australia) uses lemon myrtle and Tasmanian pepperberry; Kongsgaard uses Danish apples; Gin Mare uses Spanish olives, citrus, basil, rosemary and thyme; Ki No Bi uses yuzu, sansho, red shiso and bamboo leaf; Glendalough is foraged from the Irish mountains around the distillery. The Botanist gin is distilled after an overnight maceration of nine base botanicals (the seed, berry, bark, root, and peel categories) in 100% wheat spirit and Islay spring water. The alcohol vapor infusion from the distillation then passes through a botanical basket containing the collected leaves and petals. This double infusion gives the Botanist gin its distinct flavor.

There are four different types of gin: London dry gin, old Tom, Plymouth and navy strength gin. Is gin gluten-free?Morton, Tom (1992). Spirit of adventure: a journey beyond the whisky trails. Edinburgh: Global Publishing. p.188. ISBN 1851584986. LCCN 93158608. The great thing about gin is it can be stored for years without going off, but it’s recommended to drink it within two years of opening. Even if you tightly reseal it, it’ll likely lose taste and quality if you leave it any longer. What are the different types of gin?
