To summarise, we recommend this tool. There are many things we love about this vegetable chopper. It’s easy to use, easy to clean — what more could you really want? When crafting Good Grips tools, OXO focus on the turning, twisting, pushing, pulling and pouring actions they’re put to, and come up with the ingenious, reliable, soft-grip handles that put you in control even when your hands are wet. You really have to get your hands on an OXO Good Grips utensil to appreciate how wonderfully designed they are. OXO Good Grips kitchen utensils Take the stress out of chopping apples, onions, and other fruit and veg with OXO Good Grips’ Vegetable Chopper.

To be frank, there is little we don’t like about this accessory. For the price, it performed decently with all the vegetables we tested. However, there are a couple of caveats. The Vegetable Chopper also has a non-slip base for extra stability when chopping, and easily comes apart for cleaning. You can even put it in the dishwasher. Today OXO offers over 1000 products which have a tangible impact on the ease of everyday life. OXO have come a long way since Sam Farber designed that first OXO peeler. The Good Grips range was started when OXO founder Sam Harber saw that his arthritic wife was struggling to use a vegetable peeler, and became inspired to make one that was easy to grip and use for everyone. And it’s since transformed into a full range of helpful, everyday products.

One second, you’re happily chopping away, and the next you’re trying to blink through the tears forming in your eyes. You’ll find an expansive range of OXO kitchen utensils, home devices and OXO food storage containers available at Lakeland. The OXO Good Grips promise Having had the opportunity to text out this OXO veggie chopper, here's everything to know about this handy kitchen gadget. How to use the OXO vegetable chopper To make our test fair, we decided to choose a recipe that everyone can follow to make what for many of us is a typical evening meal. But it’s one that also involves chopping up ingredients with different textures (carrots, mushrooms, celery and onions). Yes, we opted for that family favourite — spaghetti bolognese. For the soffritto, which is the basis of a bolognese and many other sauces, it’s important that the vegetables are chopped to be both small and evenly sized. That’s something that can be really difficult to achieve with just a knife.

For this reason, when testing, we only used the chopper. It made the experience of chopping onions much easier, and from now on, we won’t have to ask other household members to take over this particular task. OXO Good Grips began when its founder Sam Farber was cooking with his wife Betsy. Sam noticed how Betsy was struggling to use a peeler with her mildly arthritic fingers. He had a moment of inspiration. First of all, the vegetable chopper is part of the OXO Good Grips range, which focuses on making everyday products easier to use — they offer products ranging from laptop cleaner, to toilet brushes, to lint removers.

OXO Good Grips have long had a widespread appeal and anyone who likes to make life that little bit easier will love these inspirational products. Of course, you can get your hands on one those iconic coffee machines that started the Good Grips revolution. OXO Good Grips containers The OXO Good Grips Vegetable Chopper is a manual chopper, meaning that there is no electrical component, so you still have to do some of the work. However, it’s remarkably easy to use, and the minimal work you do have to put into it still makes chopping vegetables far easier than using a knife. OXO make superb kitchen utensils, but they’ve applied their expertise to a wider range of household products too. Particularly their selection of OXO food storage containers. We actually prefer using one of these in comparison to an electric vegetable chopper, as they can sometimes be a bit heavy-handed and produce a mush. So while using a manual chopper might take a bit longer, we think that the result is far superior based on our experience we think the OXO Good Grips Vegetable Chopper is a great manual chopper. While we did find it much easier to chop the carrots using the OXO vegetable chopper in comparison to a knife, we did have to press quite hard down on the lid, and think that if the carrots we used were much bigger it would have been difficult to chop. Because of this, we do recommend that you slice your harder vegetables (such as potatoes, carrots, parsnips etc) to make them more manageable. Simple ideas are often the best. And for kitchens, bathrooms and everywhere else throughout your home, you can bet there will be a tried and tested 'good grips' solution from those clever people at OXO. Bear in mind that we still had to cut the onion in half and remove the peel, so there were still a few tears, but since you simply press the lid on the chopper to cut the onion, there was no safety risk. It’s clear OXO have made sure that the chopper is easy to use for every step of the way, from chopping to cleaning. To clean, you simply press down on the front of the lid, and the top will come off. Then you can simply remove the blades as well as the silicone catcher to stop food getting caught in the lid. Even better, it can also go in the dishwasher so it’s great for those who will do anything to avoid hand-washing dishes! What we didn’t love about the OXO vegetable chopper?
