About this deal

Another important aspect of Tanqueray No. Ten's distillation is the low percentage of spirit retained as 'the cut' for the finished product. Typically (for example, with Special Dry) 90% of the total spirit is captured as the cut, implying that around 10% is discarded as 'heads' (the first spirit to run off the still) and 'tails' (the last spirit to run off the still). In contrast, during distillation of Tanqueray No. Ten, only around 60% of the spirit makes the cut: approximately 40% is discarded. Overall, Tanqueray Ten endures not because of the reputation, of the brand that preceded it. It endures because it’s a nearly perfectly made gin.

Tanqueray No.10 works brilliantly in a Tom Collins but also works well when served simply with a wedge of grapefruit or most citrus based fruits. Tanqueray No. Ten was created with this heritage in mind and set the standard as one of the very first ultra-premium gins Tiny Ten is used for the first distillation of Tanqueray No. Ten, which produces the citrus spirit known as the 'citrus heart' of No. Ten. Wheat grain neutral spirit is distilled with fresh hand chopped Florida oranges, Mexican limes and grapefruits to produce this essence. This use of fresh fruit rather than dried peels is most unusual and is thought to contribute Tanqueray No. Ten's fresh citrus led style. Tanqueray No. TEN Gin is distilled four times with Tanqueray's standard gin botanicals of refreshing juniper, peppery coriander, aromatic angelica and sweet liquorice. Whole citrus fruits, including limes, oranges and pink grapefruit are then added with chamomile flowers to Tiny Ten, the still from which the liquid gets its name. It is best enjoyed with premium tonic water, plenty of ice and a wedge of pink grapefruit or with dry vermouth and a twist of pink grapefruit in a perfect martini.Tanqueray No. TEN is distilled four times with the classic gin botanicals of refreshing juniper, peppery coriander, aromatic angelica and sweet liquorice. Fresh whole citrus fruits and chamomile flowers are then added to create an exceptional taste. Tanqueray No. TEN is the only gin in the prestigious globally-acclaimed San Francisco Spirits Hall of Fame. This award-winning gin is distilled in small batches with whole citrus fruits. There’s hardly a better time for TEN’s citric sizzle and garden-fresh flavors than spring and summer. This gin is a reflection of this revitalizing time of year, matching the floral fireworks of spring, and giving you the refreshing qualities you long for come summer. The whole citrus is distilled separately from the other botanicals. The two distillates are blended, diluted and bottled. Tasting Notes Tanqueray No. TEN Gin has won multiple awards including accolades from the San Francisco Spirits Competition 2020, where it won Double Gold in the gin category.

Compliment Tanqueray No. TEN and tonic with a pink grapefruit wedge to enhance its bright and complex citrus flavour. Best enjoyed with premium tonic water, plenty of ice and a wedge of pink grapefruit, or with dry vermouth and a twist of pink grapefruit in a perfect martini. It’s in the midpalate where the more rooty elements in the gin emerge with angelica root and licorice, and we really get a sense of the level of alcohol. It’s really the midpalate of Tanqueray London Dry Gin which makes it one of the best gins you can use in a gin and tonic. The structure that’s created between the spice and the spirit is unparalleled in the gin space, with flavor that is nothing short of perfection. Like the nose, the midpalate of Tanqueray has each and every botanical accounted for. Surprisingly, there’s also a sense of underlining sweetness in the midpalate. It’s subtle, but it’s there, and it emanates not only from the base grain spirit, but also from the licorice root.

More From Tanqueray

If you’ve been in almost any premium bar, you’ll of most likely seen a bottle of Tanqueray No.10 glistening in its glorious green bottle, sat on the bar shelves. This multi-award winning citrus based gin has been welcomed by the vast majority of gin lovers due to its depth of a fresh, clean flavour and sets the bar at what a premium gin should be. Tanqueray No.10 Gin Tasting Notes This gin may not have been possible in 1830 when Charles Tanqueray first developed the recipe for his gin. Fresh citrus, especially in the reliable quantities to make a gin like this would have either been quite expensive or just simply not available in 19th century London on a predictable basis. Expertly made, Tanqueray’s top shelf gin reads as slightly more classic twenty years later than when it launched. Classic gin fans will love the way the juniper is elevated by citrus. Contemporary gin fans will appreciate the way citrus stars without be coming one note. Whole citrus fruits, limes, oranges and pink grapefruit are added with chamomile flowers to Tiny Ten

Think of this gin as a tip of the hat to Charles Tanqueray, founder of the nearly two-century-old brand. It honors the man’s perfectionism, which is written all over his recipes and resulting work. Tanqueray didn’t just make spirits worth drinking, he made spirits worth savoring. TEN is one the late founder would be most proud of.Tanqueray No. TEN Gin has won multiple awards including Double Gold in the gin category at the San Francisco Spirits Competition 2020 Tanqueray No.10 has been a staple gin since 2000, it serves the purpose of being a trendsetter for what a premium gin should be like. Although, with the level of gins constantly improving, it’s questionable how long can Tanqueray No.10 keep this title. Take your Collins to the tropics with this sunny riff. It banks on the drink’s customary call for fresh lime and soda and adds an aromatic addition of pineapple, taking the drink straight to a faraway island. If you thought only rum could offer such a vacation in a glass, think again. When summer heat creeps in, the antidote is an ultra-refreshing cooler. This drink takes advantage of the gin’s herbal side, freshening it up with some cucumber. The infusion takes a little time but you’ll be very pleased with the results. You can experiment a bit with your herb selection, perhaps adding a bit of dried lavender, rosemary, and/or thyme. Tanqueray No. Ten Gin gets its name from being made in Tanqueray’s number ten still, also affectionately referred to as “Tiny Ten”. This small still was used as an experimental/trial run still at the distillery before becoming the key still for Tanqueray 10. There is a misconception that Tanqueray 10 gets its name from the number of botanicals in the mix; in fact, the recipe for Tanqueray 10 has all four of the base botanicals from Tanqueray London Dry: juniper, coriander, angelica, and licorice. Tanqueray 10 adds an additional four elements to the mix, including fresh white grapefruit, fresh lime, fresh orange, and camomile flowers for a total of 8 botanicals. One of the things which makes Tanqueray 10 unique is that it uses fresh whole citrus rather than dried citrus peels. Dried peels are used for the majority of gins on the market and very few actually use fresh fruit.
