The Warhammer Community team has come up with a few of our own sample lists to see what’s possible. The sons of Mortarion are ready to fumigate their local voidcraft with this bloated Boarding Patrol led by a putrid Lord of Virulence, his three sworn Deathshroud Terminators, and 10 incredibly sturdy Plague Marines who benefit from a corrupted cornucopia of weapon options. If you just bought those three boxes you’d actually have a pretty good mix of Chaos units. Points-wise you’re looking at 745 + 630 + 505 + wargear for a point total of 1880. Now, you’re light on vehicles and have a whole lot of footsloggers so consider yourself warned. Rhinos are 80 points each while a Land Raider is 265. You could make some cuts but if you don’t you’re still looking at a very basic “meat-and-potatoes” chaos list. Would this be very competitive? Honestly — not in the current meta. It’s going to struggle with some of the heavy hitters out there. I’m not a Chaos Daemons player, so it’s down to you to decide if you want to bite a smaller bullet to get a bigger force or if you’re plain old happy with this offering. The Adeptus Custodes are the Emperor’s finest. Golden demigods, they are His bodyguards and attendants, trained for centuries in the ancient art of walloping literally anything that gets in their way, tasked with missions too personal and dangerous even for the mighty Space Marines. This set is led by no less a personage than Captain-General Trajann Valoris, who is joined by three Allarus Custodians, and five Custodian Guards. So, expect them all to have a lot of foot sloggers, but again, the values have been all over the place, so we’ll have to see the final price. From the looks of it, GW may release one of these box sets for every faction…This is hard-hitting force includes three Crisis Battlesuits and a squad of 10 Fire Warriors, who are perfectly suited for close-quarters combat when assembled as a Breacher Team. The battlesuits have numerous short-ranged weapon options, which offer great utility against many different enemy types in tight spaces. From a percentage point of view, these savings don’t seem as hot as Boarding Patrol: Chaos Space Marines or Boarding Patrol: Death Guard, but the 30% mark is usually standard discount, and still decent if you’re invested in a Khorne Daemon spam horde force.
