Play In A Day is an exciting participatory project for Years 4, 5 and 6 pupils. It has been touring nationwide to much acclaim for the past 15 years, giving pupils the opportunity to develop their performance, co-ordination, confidence, listeningand speaking skillsunder the guidance of one of Lynx’s highly experienced theatre practitioners. No, our plays are written in an ensemble style and are designed to be performed without a reliance on props and costumes. The children can be dressed in normal school clothes and trainers for the day's work. Our KS1 Play in a Day® projects are accompanied by music and props, which are provided by Konflux on the day. Two short films (of no more than 5 minutes), produced by professional Movement Consultant Robin Guiver, illustrating how to use movement in your production.

Casting: 2 male key speaking roles with 2 female supporting roles make up the main bulk of the play. There are flexible roles for the rest of the class that can be made as little of as much of as you see fit. The playwright has suggested between 8-20 roles where the lines can be divided up in any way that works for your interpretation.Yes, we like to give the opportunity for the group to share their work with the whole school community and parents are very welcome too!

Setting and Style: Set in the current day and then jumps into the future. We also see an Indonesian Family and their reaction to the events taking place in the play.
