About this deal

ILCE-7SM2 System Software (Firmware) Update Ver. 3.01 (Windows) | Sony USA". www.sony.com. Archived from the original on October 16, 2019 . Retrieved November 12, 2019. The Sony Alpha A7S II is a full-frame compact system camera. Design and overall style are very similar to all the other models in the top-end Alpha range. It’s not a small camera, but it’s certainly smaller than DSLR alternatives like the Nikon D810. The a7R II has more pixels on its sensor than the a7S II, hence the a7S II pixels can be larger and capture more light resulting in better lowlight performance. The shutter button has also moved from the top of the camera body, to the top of the grip itself, and is now angled slightly downward. Its diameter has been increased slightly over that of the original a7.

theres no objects that are inappropriate for the a7rii however the a7s is going to have better low light performance. Another amazing thing about Sony which changed many Filmmakers way of working is their Log mode Sony SLog2. Many professionals of course used Slog for years but it was mainly a feature on more professional cameras. If you don’t know what Log is, then it’s basically a super flat picture profile on the camera that can maintain details in the shadows and highlights, making it possible to have a higher dynamic range. And secondly, it ensures that techniques like pixel binning or line skipping aren't needed to produce 4K video, which helps with heat management. Unlike the new Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6, the A7S III can record 4K/60p video continuously for well over half an hour –or even up to an hour, if your card and battery can handle it.

Sony's 12MP full-frame CSC is a great option if 4K video and low light shooting are your thing

There are improvements for photography too like the faster burst speeds, although this is primarily a product designed for filmmakers. (But if you’re fine with 12MP, I’m sure it can be a great tool for still too). Sony a7s ii comes with a 100-102400 range, which can be increased to 50-409600. Another side, the Sony a7r ii’s ISO sensitivity range is 100-25600, and its expandable range is 50-102400. So, the Sony a7sii is better than the Sony a7r ii for the ISO range. The images on both cameras look remarkably similar in terms of quality and resolution. Especially a7R II crop mode vs. a7S II full frame mode are hard to differentiate. The a7R II in full frame is slightly worse, but still very usable. In HD only the full-frame mode is usable on the a7R II. Lowlight

The colour is natural, resolution is plenty, some files when taken properly kinda look great to me. Sometimes when you upgrade to the next-gen, you’re going to see a drastic improvement, and other times it just isn’t really worth it. Fortunately, Sony has always pushed their A7S series of cameras as far as they can with subsequent releases. Both cameras have a strong rolling shutter effect in their best quality modes, just like most other cameras that use a large CMOS sensor. The a7S II performs slightly better here. To improve rolling shutter you can use full-frame mode on the Sony a7R II. Resolution / Quality Sony a7r ii and Sony a7s ii cameras are formed with Sony’s latest BIONZ X image processing engine. Therefore, both devices can perform faster and ensure accurate color combinations. Besides, their continuous shooting speed is 5 frames per second, enabling them to take proper shots of any fast-moving objects or instant moments. Viewfinder Type and LCD monitor Lowlight difference between Sony a7S II (top) and Sony a7R II (bottom) at ISO 25,600. Shot brightness was matched.

The a7 II (right) is a good bit heavier than the original a7. To compensate for the added bulk, the grip has been substantially beefed up. Weight aside, the two camera have remarkably similar control layouts; the a7 II should feel very familiar to anyone who has used any of the other a7 cameras.

Sony have just released details about their new A7Siii camera. I deep dive into the best specs and why the new camera is a big step in the film world. History of the A7S Up to 10 fps in continuous “Hi+” mode and up to 8 fps in “H” mode. CFexpress Type A memory card. Sony tests. The Sony a7r ii has Fast Hybrid Autofocus with 399 points, whereas a7s ii has only 169 focus points. So, the Sony a7r ii performs better for higher focus points than its opponent. What’s new for this second-generation model? The Sony Alpha A7S II takes on all the key design improvements we saw in the A7R II. There are three different codecs / recording levels on the new camera. In addition to XAVC S which is also found on the A7S II, the mark III model can record with XAVC HS with H.265 compression efficiency, or with XAVC S-I that uses All-Intra compression.Flash off, Auto flash, Fill-flash, Slow Sync., Rear Sync., Hi-speed Sync, Wireless; Red-eye reduction: On/Off The α7S II's shutter speed range is 30 s to 1/8,000 s for still images. For bulb movies, the shutter speed range is 1/4 s (1/3 s step) to 1/8,000 s. [2] One of the biggest differences between the Sony A7S III and A7S II is battery life, with Sony's new video flagship getting a significant upgrade thanks to the inclusion of its Z battery. The image stabilisation works really well with adapted lenses, i was using it handheld with 1/15-s/speed @ fstop-11 at 7pm in the evening iso 600 28/3.5 ais nikon lens getting pretty sharp reasonably bright results.

While the first-wave A7 models were standard-setting but felt a little awkward to operate in parts, the Sony Alpha A7S II uses redesigned controls that simply work better. The Sony Alpha A7S II at first seems to have the same EVF as the A7S. It uses a 2.36-million dot viewfinder. Higher resolution models exist, but are very rare at the time of writing. The ISO sensitivity range of the Sony a7r ii camera is 100-25600, and you can adjust this sensitivity range to 50-102400. Another side, the Sony a7s ii’s ISO range is 100-102400, and this range can be expanded to 50-409600. So, if you prefer to take photos in low light, then the Sony a7s ii would be better but make sure you know the process of adjusting the ISO range. Otherwise, if you want a camera for regular use, then the Sony a7r ii would be good enough. Image Processor and Continuous shooting speed Models sold in some countries/regions support IEEE 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz) only. 5GHz communication may be restricted in some countries and regions. Before we delve into this particular topic, it is important to mention that the sensors found inside these two cameras have been engineered for different purposes. Sony has also increased the size of the buttons on the A7S III and added a big record button above the grip, in place of one of the custom buttons. Overall, it's not a complete reinvention of the A7S II's design, but it is far more refined and user-friendly for videographers –particularly when you consider the following three differences between the cameras... 4. Viewfinder Like the a7S, the a7 II has the ability to record in the XAVC S codec, which offers a 50MBps bit rate at 1080/60p (as well as 1080/30p and 1080/24p). Recording in AVCHD and MP4 also remain an option.
