The biggest problem is, however, that antimicrobial cleaning products often act in the same way as antibiotics. The description is spot on, it is a good-sized bottle and I keep one in each of my bags/backpacks as I love all three smells. Some (not all) disinfectants are only suitable for pre-cleaned surfaces, as organic matter (such as sweat, soil or fat) may inactivate its antibacterial properties.

Light and refreshing it smells as good as it is effective, and given it is 70% alcohol it more than does the job!While this doesn’t include general wear and tear you can feel confident that it should last you a good few years. As it contains several compounds with potent anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties, Purdy and Charlotte believed witch hazel would be a perfect natural ingredient that adds a touch of luxury to their sanitiser. Lactic Acid helps to break down and actively remove limescale and hard water deposits from surfaces, leaving them shiny and streak-free!

It’s also a good idea to clean the basin a bit more regularly (the sink is often dirtier/contains more bacteria than a toilet seat!

As always, we recommend regular use to prevent build-ups as prevention is definitely better than cure! Aside from feeling good about the benefits to your health ( see here) and the environment ( see here), we wanted to create products that are a joy to use and promote a sense of wellbeing. They send you a starter kit of re-usable metal bottle and sachets of crystals you mix with water, the sachet is compostable. It will kill bacteria and/or viruses present on the surface, but only when applied according to instructions (often meaning it needs to be left on a surface for 5-15 minutes to be effective). Demand has grown so quickly that we’ve grown out of Purdy’s garage and have now moved into full production!
