About this deal

In ideal storage conditions, a RIVER 2 will only lose 2% of its power each month after it’s fully powered and unplugged. LiFePO4 offers many advantages over Li-Ion, including longer lifespans, faster recharge times, and increased performance in extreme temperatures. You can charge using AC power, solar panels, a car adapter, or USB-C. Solar Charging: 110W Solar Charging Charging doesn’t have to be a chore. The EcoFlow RIVER 2 mini charges from 0-100% in one hour using household AC electricity.

The other crucial determining factor in what appliances a portable power station can run is its AC Output. RIVER 2 offers 300W (running wattage) and surge power of 600W (starting watts) thanks to X-Boost. The additional starting wattage gives you the flexibility to run up to 99% of consumer electronics. Can the RIVER 2 Be Used as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)? Suppose you’re on a budget and don’t like the idea of paying for more electricity generation capacity that you need. In that case, you’re better off purchasing a 110W EcoFlow solar panel to match your RIVER 2’s solar input capacity. Temperature affects solar panel efficiency, while factors like the peak sun hours your solar panel receives and its positioning impact how much electricity you generate in real-world conditions. The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max features four pure sine wave AC outlets that deliver up to 500W (1000W of surge power with X-Boost.) Yes, it can power multiple devices simultaneously as long as the maximum wattage of the devices added together does not exceed the RIVER 2’s operating AC output of 300W.The RIVER 2 series is the first-ever collection of portable power stations to be TÜV Rheinland certified, meaning their safety, durability, and quality is evaluated by independent experts and found to be beyond reproach. But make no mistake, at just 17.2 lbs (7.8 kg), it’s still super portable. It features a comfortable grip that makes it easy to carry and a compact design that makes it a perfect grab-and-go power source for higher-wattage appliances. Capacity: 768Wh My intension with the review was to fully charge the battery on the River 2 Max and drain it several times. So I started out using it for charging phones and a multitude of accessories around the house, and I immediately realized that wasn’t going to cut it. The River 2 Max has a 512Wh battery, and it would easily charge the likes of the Galaxy S23 Ultra for a few weeks before the battery ran out. All RIVER 2 series portable power stations feature industry-leading LFP (LiFePO4) battery chemistry. Longer lifespans, lower weight, and a wider range of operating temperatures are just a few of the benefits LFP offers. EcoFlow RIVER 2: The Final Verdict

RIVER 2 charges from 0-100% in just 60 minutes using AC power. RIVER 2 Pro offers three times the storage capacity at 768Wh, but it only takes 10 minutes longer to charge using AC. Once connected, the WiFi indicator will pop up on the screen as well and the app is fairly straightforward in allowing status indicators at a glance, in addition to controlling the various outputs and inputs. Not pictured in the GIF above is a time chart for charging and discharging power levels, which shows how long the various charging inputs have been on for and how efficiently at that—quite handy for solar charging should you need to see whether to move portable solar panels around to better face the sun. The connection is over WiFi, so you can theoretically monitor the power station from a good distance away, which is handily paired with pre-set alarms that will pop up as notifications. The settings menu has plenty of other options, some of which are shown here. In particular, I appreciated the ability to set the maximum charge level, which can be useful even on this LiFePO4-based battery unit that is good for 80%+ capacity after 3000 cycles compared to the Li-ion RIVER Pro, which only had this 80% rating for the first 800 cycles. As such, you can be rest assured about using the RIVER 2 daily for years at a time, and this is also why EcoFlow has increased the warranty period to five years on the RIVER 2 lineup from the two years previously offered. You can also select the maximum charging levels in each mode, limit the output as deemed necessary, and have firmware updates done to the unit that can add more features or resolve any bugs typically seen early in the product life cycle. This app removes the need for an onboard menu with touch screen or navigation buttons, keeping the unit physically smaller and providing more customization, control, and monitoring—a very useful selling point in itself. Like EcoFlow’s DELTA series, the RIVER 2 series comes in various shapes and sizes, with different features tailored toward different users and scenarios.

Ultra-fast home backup switchover.

Need to charge numerous devices at once? With multiple AC, USB-A, USB-C, and DC outlets, RIVER 2 has you covered. Fast Charging with X-Stream: 0-100% in 1 hour You can recharge while you operate using any of RIVER 2’s four charging methods — including solar panels. Can I Connect Two RIVER 2s Together in Parallel? All of these ports make RIVER 2 the most versatile 7.7 lb (3.5 kg) PPS on the market. But every port is also an opportunity for water to make ingress into your PPS. While your RIVER 2 will surely survive a slight sprinkle, don’t leave it outside in the rain — and don’t immerse it in the water! RIVER 2 is the smallest portable power station in the RIVER 2 series. It’s more powerful than a power bank and more compact than other portable power stations. Many appliances list their power requirements in volts or amps. You can easily calculate the watts by multiplying the volts and amps together:
