In this post, we take a look at some really well done miniatures by Monster Fight Club for the new Cyberpunk Red RPG.

In the time of the Red, every city has a Combat Zone: an area of the city where the law doesn’t reach and cyber-enhanced gangs vie for control over the streets.

Combat Zone features a new, fast-paced game engine that where the players can act and react in organic, free-flowing actions. No rounds, no phases - the game just goes. As your characters take hits and get wounded, their abilities degrade - so strike hard and strike fast!

As a note, the Game Master to the game is actually the original creator of the Cyberpunk RPG, Mike Pondsmith. How cool is that? Tokens show at a glance what each of the characters on the table is capable of. Here the Maelstrom figure has used all three of its actions, turning its tokens over. That’s because you only need about three to six miniatures to do battle in a relatively small area — here, a space that’s 22 inches wide and 30 inches long. That means your investment in terms of both time and money will be much lower than with a traditional miniatures wargame. Combat Zone is set in 2045. That’s the same era as Cyberpunk Red, making it a prequel to CD Projekt Red’s video game. The action takes place in the aforementioned Combat Zones in and around Night City, a fictional West Coast metropolis located between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Imagine the most run-down urban areas of the rust belt overrun with heavily-armed gangs and you’ve got the right idea.
