About this deal

Maybe they finnaly actually got someone who know who to write, but i doubt she can milk gold from stone. Overall, the book is interesting to the initiated, but also frustrating. It tells us a history. It gives us insight into characters. But in some ways it leaves more questions than it answers. If you love Alexstrasza, want to know more about Vyranoth, or are interested in how the War of the Scaleborn happened, as opposed to what happened, then this book is for you.

As soon as he was gone, Alexstrasza shed her solemnity. “Vyranoth!” she cried, bounding down the stairs. She pressed her cheek to Vyranoth’s. “Words cannot express how glad I am to see you, my friend. Thank you for coming.”Despite the efforts of the Dragonqueen Alexstrasza and her primal friend, Vyranoth, to preserve peace, both sides slip closer to violence, as dragons are forced to choose a side or be swept up in the growing conflict. With battle lines and allegiances drawn, the war amongst dragonkind shakes the foundation of the world. Both sides realize they will have to make sacrifices to secure the future of their kind, sacrifices that will cascade through the ages. [2] Characters In an IP as large and sprawling as Warcraft, some retcons are inevitable. Once all of the disparate data about a character or event are pulled together and evaluated, there are going to be contradictions. It is up to the writer working with Blizzard to tease out the threads that will become canon, and discard those that contradict the chosen path.

Blizzard’s description of Sylvanas was so funny, because they were so coy on if she was good or bad, yet they also said she was “gonna make Garrosh look like an amateur,” a character whose trial Christie Golden based on Nuremberg. A mid-expansion book leaving more questions than answers? I wonder why. Is it potentially that those threads are left the way they are because we'll get more story in 10.2 and the already encrypted 10.2.5 on PTR? Fans who would love to watch Blizzard-related panels and appreciate our efforts can support Blizzplanet's patreon in a monthly-basis, or a one-time basis. Our staff are volunteer fans like you. Your donations will help us travel to all the Blizzard events we attend year-round to bring you the latest interview with the developers, photos, and panel videos (where allowed).World of Warcraft: Dragonflight became the latest expansion to the long-running MMORPG series in 2022. Now Random Hosue Worlds is expanding on that new Warcraft mythology with a companion novel called World of Warcraft: Dragonflight - War of the Scaleborn.

Yup. The lore’s a complete mess. The franchise desperately needs a hard reboot with more cohesive world building. It’s only going to get worse now they’ve burnt through all the main plots of the franchise and have to make stuff up on the spot with little to no foreshadowing. This telling of an old conflict which drove a wedge between factions of a species and affected their very evolution raises some interesting questions about leadership, reward, and choice that are very pertinent to today’s world. One of the triggers for part of the conflict revolves around the fact that prenatal primal-dragons can be influenced into being Primals or Dragons by their egg being infused with “energies” of one kind or another. By itself, this is not an issue. The issue comes in with consent. Adult dragons can also undergo this change. So is it ok to infuse abandoned eggs? Is it ok to steal and infuse eggs? Is it ok to infuse eggs pre-hatching and not let whatever hatches decide for itself? Choice is a theme that runs throughout. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and, as Alexstrasza discovers, a right choice on one day may turn out to have been very much the wrong choice on another, be it egg-infusion, choice of allies, or accepting a boon with strings attached. Fyrakk is considered a hothead who wants to fight and not a true threat. However Iridikron potentially joining him is a massive concern. Yep, but what I find most interesting is that when they see the trolls making villages out of straw huts, neltharion mentions that the trolls are more established in the south with civilisations. It doesn't take away from anything. As stated if this was in game it would just be skipped by the vast majority of players and also kept in such a short format that it would be rendered meaningless.Book is great if you're the kind of person to buy and read wow books. I thought it was one of their better stories. <3 This difference is not just biological, but ideological as well. The Incarnates founded the Primalist movement on the belief that dragons should not be changed by outside influences like the titans. He did actually voice his opinion, but it was just an and I’m paraphrasing by the way “I see a thousand different possibilities, the choice to take the eggs might be a boon for our flights, or a decision that ends them.”.

A few years ago I started a project of scrapping all the quest texts, dialogues etc of each zone to generate a book written at the second person that could entirely replace the game. Unfortunately, it's very hard to do and it still requires manually editing some things to make it into a coherent text so I gave up. I still think it would be awes wasnt this one of people's biggest issues w/ the novels before? that they were necessary for understanding the story so if you didn't read them you were left confused? why is this being framed as an issue now? Because of this, we believe this new book will detail the events of the conflict that happened over 20,000 years ago. As of the time of this post, all information we have on this book is the title, with no information on things such as who's narrating the story. If you have something to say to me, please continue.” Alexstrasza used a hint of that same diplomatic, queenly tone she had used with the keeper. “You have always been my most honest and straightforward of friends, Vyranoth. You know you can be true with me.”The book's target audience may vary depending on their familiarity with the Warcraft lore. While devoted fans seeking a deeper understanding of the game's events will appreciate the historical insights, some peculiar retcons may leave lore aficionados confused. As with any expansive and long-running IP, inconsistencies and contradictions are inevitable, and it falls on the writer to navigate through them wisely. Just the other day I said "boy it's nice to be getting all the exposition in the game, I hope they don't do any more books" as I was doing the new Blue Dragonflight quests ........... Just finished reading it, the retcons are pretty small and of no consequence. It's like saying your great great grandmother hand blue eyes when before someone said they were as pretty as emeralds. After 20+ years (even more if you count the RTS days) of constantly shifting/changing/retconning to the point where the foundation of the lore is built on Jell-O in an earthquake zone, I just can't care that much anymore. A year or two and a writer or three down the road and what was supposed to be the lore is now just "Someone's point of view." They even have the gall to sell you expensive "guides" that are labeled as "definitive" that they just slap the "alternate facts" label on a little down the road.
