About this deal

With water: When a few drops are added, the nose takes on a new dimension. The aroma becomes richer and creamier, with a buttery note and a fresh pastry scent. Palate: Torfa followed Glenglaussaugh Evolution, and there are various Limited Editions also available. The Evolution release is a NAS whisky matured in a unique combination ex-Tennessee first-fill whiskey barrels. It has a natural colour and is non-chill-filtered. Glenglassaugh has been described as a 'coastal' distillery, being located on the north coast of Speyside near Glen Deveron and Banff. Founded in 1875, between 1960 and 1986 it produced malt whiskies for the blending market, in particular the Cutty Sark and Famous Grouse blends. However, it suffered from the recession riddled decline that plagued the Scotch whisky industry in the early 1980's and was mothballed in 1986. It restarted production in November 2008 after being acquired by independent investors, the Edrington Group, following a complete refurbishment by the new owners.

While the Glenglassaugh Evolution whisky is an improvement over the Revival expression, it falls a little short in terms of complexity. However, it’s worth noting that the whisky is relatively young, which may account for this. Rating: 83/100 Col. James Moir founded the Glenglassaugh distillery in 1875. He ran the distillery with his two nephews until 1892, when Highland Distillers sold Glenglassaugh. The distillery had periods of being closed, and then in 1960 was completely re-built. Glenglaussagh distillery mainly produced whisky for blends, including Cutty Sark and the Famous Grouse. The distillery continued to produce whisky until 1986, when it was mothballed. With water: When water is added, the palate opens up to reveal more fruit flavours, including apple and citrus notes. The smoky taste is still prominent, but a hint of vanilla begins to emerge. Finish:If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remainder of the Terms shall continue in full force and effect. While Glenglassaugh opened in 1873, it’s seen extensive rebuilding over the years and the current distillery only settled down into its current state in the 1960s. A casualty of the industry downturn of the 1980s, it was mothballed in 1986 and it looked like the end was in sight. For 22 years, the distillery sat silent, but in 2008, the current chapter begun. A new challenger
