About this deal

Have to buy accompanying accessories to work it which can drive up the cost slightly e.g. SD card adaptor, AA batteries, protective case etc. Evermix Box 4 is the latest evolution of the MixBox2 - already trusted by many DJs, promoters and venues. EverMixBox4 delivers the same high quality audio recordings whilst adding exciting new features, making it the ultimate box for recording DJ sets to you iOS or Android device.

Easy 'plug in and play' system lets you set up in seconds - no messing about before you take to the stage Apparently there’s 6 hours of usage time on full charge, this should be plenty of time to record your DJ set. Although make sure you charge it up to the max so you don’t cut off during your DJ set when recording. This cookie stores user-like settings for the chat system provider, which are required for our online chat service. Trusted ShopsOne of the easiest ways to record your DJ sets is by using the software you’re actually DJ’ing on. This is made even easier when you are using a DJ controller as the software will automatically set up the recording channel, simplifying the process massively. Record your Serato DJ set You can record your set directly to your computer, even without performing on DJ software. Using an external sound card or by connecting to the sound cards found inside some high-end DJ mixers, we can record using free audio software. We recommend using Audacity or Garage Band. External Sound Cards When you are finished, make sure you stop the recording and save the mix to a location of your choice.

As an example, you could potentially use your phone’s camera recording features alongside the EvermixBox 4 to create video recordings with super-high-quality sound. I’m not going to lie and say that it doesn’t feel weird not to play with the sound levels, but it’s also true that your recordings don’t seem to be negatively impacted either. Again, it really comes down to if you need to be at a certain specific level. The clearly designed app not only offers functions for recording a DJ set, but also serves to edit the recording. Fade-in, fade-out, length of the set, volume of the entire set or various points, set name, location, date, assignment of genres and much more can be edited and set in the app.

Either way, you can then choose to send it off to as many places as you want, be it other people or to a cloud storage locations (like iCloud, Google Drive, or Dropbox). For all the devices setup there’s a common connection type and that’s to the Master out or Booth out. Once you have your mixers drivers installed, open the setting utility software that came with the driver. From here we can see the inputs and outputs of the mixer. On the output section, ensure one of the channels is set to REC OUT. Most modern Pioneer mixers will have a dedicated channel called MIX that is automatically set to REC OUT as seen below.

Recording mixes and sets can be one of the best marketing methods for DJ’s but there has always been confusion about the best way to actually get your set recorded. With many options available to suit different setups, we’ll break down everything you need to know about recording your sets! Recording internally with DJ software

Recording a DJ mix is sometimes not an option using a laptop. This is because of a couple of main reasons, some DJs simply do not use a laptop in their DJ set, also some DJs may DJ at festivals where laptops might not be that practical to take. LoveThatBass has been created by people who work within the D&B music industry and love this music! These include things like fading in and out, setting a start point as well as an endpoint, and even a volume point.

We didn’t go through all of this with Android devices, and while I’m reasonably certain the results should be the same, I can’t give that a 100% guarantee. The EvermixBox4 is the perfect interface between a DJ mixer / controller and a smartphone or tablet. The small box can be connected to any record-out of a DJ mixer, controller or all-in-one DJ system. Via USB-C data cable, the connection from the EvermixBox4 to a smartphone or tablet is established and turns a mobile device into a recording device in no time.

Expensive compared to other devices that arguably provide more value e.g. microphone recording / digital display Once recorded you can then edit the tags and name your mix before directly uploading it to either Mixcloud or Sound Cloud from your phone. It’s a brilliant product that works with virtually any DJ set up. Recording your DJ set with a Computer Using the app on your phone will require a connection to a DJ mixer that has a digital send-return which basically means a USB type connection. Not all DJ mixers have this available so this can be quite a limiting factor. From a visual first impression, the Evermix Box 4 wasn’t all that much to see. The device is super small and very unassuming, with its few different ports, including a lightning connector port and USB C port. Plug the RCA to 3.5mm into the Attenuator. DJ equipment outputs at line level volume, unfortunately your phone is expecting a mic level input. The attenuator allows the user to reduce the volume down to Mic level to avoid distortion and clipping. You can skip the attenuator but you will need to set your output levels on your controller very low!
