Jameson Single Pot Still embodies the traditional Irish Whiskey making style after which it is named. It's the reason John Jameson first triple distilled Irish whiskey, creating Jameson Irish Whiskey as we know it. The combination of fresh and seasoned oak adds intricate and layered sweet and smoked-wood tones with delicate tannins, working in balance with the pot still’s silky texture. Jameson Black Barrel is a special blend of Jameson Irish Whiskey, made with aged double-distilled spirits and matured in deep charred oak barrels. Palate: Thick and full on the palate, with an intense, unctuous creaminess, alongside dates, walnuts and peels.

However, as a whiskey on its own merit, it's very good and probably a great addition to someone that's just beginning their collection and figuring out what exactly they're looking for in a whiskey. Zesty fruit notes linger in the background along with dairy fudge, butterscotch and vanilla while the pot still spices continue to build over time complementing the earthy woodland notes and ripe fruits. This Five Oak Cask Release is matured in a combination of three different types of virgin oak (Irish, European and American), in addition to ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. A unique whiskey with a perfect balance of spicy, nutty and vanilla notes with hints of sweet sherry.

Opens with wood-driven spices of cinnamon and nutmeg intertwined with rich toasted oak, sweet honeycomb and salted caramel. Jameson Black Barrel (AKA Small Batch) is a super release from Jameson, with a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey as well as small-batch grain. Rich dark chocolate, spicy toffee and ground cinnamon with hints of freshly grated ginger and touches of orange peel. How to mix: Fill a high ball glass with ice, pour in a shot of Jameson, top up the glass with a good quality bottled ginger ale, stir briefly to mix, take a large wedge of lime, give it a squeeze and drop it into the glass.
