About this deal

Low's writing style is as amazing as usual. She tells the story from the point of view of four different characters, each on a special mission on this last Friday before Christmas. Content Warning: Mild sexual innuendo. Also, for those prone to swooning over unexpected romantic moments, be sure to read while sitting on a comfy couch! OVERALL RATING Single father Adam Fletcher runs a successful business but is not doing so well at being a successful father. When Carrie is employed to take care of his children, she points out this fact to him which sees the two of them at odds as to what her role should be. Carrie is convinced that her new boss is her soul mate; he just needs some adjustment. Plot: Warming, sweet, comical, thought-provoking, engrossing, perfectly-paced, enjoyable and extremely entertaining. I adored this storyline! We're twin sisters who believe in the power of great love stories, in beautiful tales of Modern Romanticism, and in living a more Romantic, imaginative lifestyle.

Thank you so much to Crown Publishing and Josie Silver for gifting us the Perfect Night In book club kit and sending out copies to some of The Traveling Sisters. It was an absolute pleasure reading this incredible book! Bernadette is leaving her husband, Ken Manson. She has spent 30 years in a loveless marriage with her husband emotionally abusing her. She has reached the end of the tether and today is the day that she is going to walk out and leave him. Thank you to Emily at Goodreads, Eliana at Crown Publishing and to Josie Silver for a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. Then one day Grayson Potts comes to stay at the B&B. He doesn’t see Thomasina the way others do; he doesn’t notice her scars or deformity, he just sees a girl with a good heart who, in turn, doesn’t notice his own flaws.

So, Do you believe in love at first sight or that we all have a soul mate? If you are on the fence and need a little push to help you fall, then read all of the books like One Day in December in the above list. Friendship and what it means, what loyalties it asks of a person, is the primary issue explored. In addition, the main character experiences a self-discovery growth arc, as do several other characters. This iconic novel like One Day in December is an epistolary (hence the title) told by Bridget Jones; a thirty-something non-perfect woman who is destined to remain single forever. When Elizabeth Bennett first meets the austere and aloof Mr Darcy, her initial impression is that he is a proud, arrogant man who could do with learning a few manners from his friend Mr Bingley.

Of course Sarah knows everything about him. Or well, as much as Laurie could tell her because it was just a passing moment and other than the fact that he read a book (of course he did) and how he looked, Laurie actually doesn’t have any details about him. How could she? She just saw him through a bus window. So in the end the universe does was it does best and messes things up big time. *lol* (Me a cynic, never! XD) strangers on different journeys and a glimpse into their lives for one day was what this novel was all about. Caro ,a teacher, had discovered a powerful truth. Cammy was going to propose to a not-so-kind woman Lila. Bernadette was about to leave a boor of a man. However, from the very first chapter, I was hooked. Each book is very cleverly written, and the words flow effortlessly as more and more secrets unravel. I found them gripping and addictive.

Lila, on one hand, is having an illicit affair to cardiac surgeon, Ken for seven years. Cannot wait any longer with the promise of divorcing and leaving his wife for good, she's plotting to tell Ken's wife herself about their relationship and realised that it is the perfect time to do and act on it. Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist. After all, life isn't a scene from the movies, is it? But then, through a misted-up bus window one freezing day, she sees a man she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic... and then her bus drives away.

Plus, I finally got to know more about Caro and Cammy. I have to admit it took a moment for me to put two and two together, but with the arrival of J & V the penny finally dropped. Embarrassed you will be. *smirks* I really hope young impressionable women do not read this book. This is exactly the type of clichéd romance novel I used to fill my head with as a teenager that convinced me that true love is pursuing a bad boy who has lukewarm feelings for you and treats you like crap. But hey, he's really hot and it's love at first sight, so it's all good! /s Also I don’t think that Oscar was a good husband. Maybe a good man but definitely no good husband. The mere fact that he took the job in Brussels and didn’t even think about declining and saying “no” was proof of it. I mean he had a wife, they were about to start a family and he simply overrode Laurie’s veto! How egoistic can you be? A marriage is about compromises and finding a way that works for both! It’s no wonder Laurie left him in the end! Which woman in her right mind would have stayed with such an egoistic douche? To move to another country and to start a life over there is a huge step! You can’t just expect that your wife will follow you blindly and will give up her entire life! Especially if she already told you that she doesn’t want to take that step! I mean WTH???!!Although… wouldn’t have minded that in my day. It would be good to have photographic evidence of how I looked before I went gray, developed wrinkles and my baps headed south.’ A woman at the next table froze, unsure if she really had just overheard that correctly. Couldn’t have. Not from that elderly lady. Five stars to this treasure of a book and five stars to the unforgettable experience of reading it! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 and to be honest with you, it took me by surprise how much I loved it. It was a perfect book to read, with beautiful writing and fascinating story with feels that gave me shivers. Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn’t exist anywhere but themovies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there’s a moment of pure magic . . . and then her bus drives away. The main characters seem to be quite similar, both internally and externally, to the characters of the film “Love, Rosie”. For example, the description of friendship between Lori and Sarah is a great example of female friendship. The story also focuses on the eternal topic of love at first sight, and it becomes clear that it is everyone’s personal business. The scene with the leaving bus that is the beginning of the “One Day in December” perfectly emphasizes the potential of this story to become a successful movie. The bus leaves the stop, and the stranger, whom Laurie is hopelessly in love with, stands on the sidewalk and looks after him. Confusion in the eyes, internal hope, and the complexity of a human soul can be expressed in looking at him until he disappears from sight. The whole book is full of similar scenes that make readers stop and think about the essence of love and relationships between people.
